Lord Kieran had never seen Iris act like this before, and he was glad that she wasn't letting the Red King nor Queen Aleera intimidate her with their presence. She was truly his equal, his rightful lady, the one who managed to love him for who he was, regardless of their circumstances. She  lifted her head and met his gaze, steady and confident.

"Come and join me here, my darling." The demon lord called her out, reaching out his hand and gestured to the small throne that was installed beside his.

Everyone turned their eyes to their High Lord, looking at him in shock. They had never seen him act like this with a woman, let alone a mortal one.
