The air around the ravine carried a damp, earthy scent mixed with a hint of decaying leaves and moss. It was a familiar smell, one that reminded him of the time he saw Melinoia for the first time. 

The young goddess was oblivious that she had company. She was seated in the meadow, making a flower crown while humming a song. Initially, he intended to whisk her away but decided to watch her instead. 

The skylight cast eerie shadows, adding to the mysterious atmosphere around the ravine. Sleep was indeed not necessary for demons like them as they could go for days without it. They both knew their demon nature granted them certain advantages compared to the other darklings. 

"Do you still plan to leave Ryn behind?" Iris asked after a long silence between them. 

Killian glanced at him and threw a small rock on the ground, watching it roll down the ravine.
