Liliana had never encountered a demon as strong as this one before them. Cold sweat trickled down the side of her face, knowing that neither she nor Ricci were strong enough to fight against him. She was sure that he was only using a fraction of his true strength and there was no telling whether he was stronger than Lord Kieran or the other twelve demon lords of Asnar.

"Marcus?" They heard their lady call out his name, but the man remained still, his hands folded behind his back as he looked at Iris restlessly.

Liliana was confused. She couldn't understand why Marcus Ashwood looked concerned about their Lady Iris. What could he possibly want from her?

"Marcus!" Ricci tried to get his attention again. The pain of betrayal was apparent on her face. "Is that even your real name? Did you purposely befriend me for a reason?"

This time Marcus turned his attention to her. A weak smile crossed his lips as he looked at her with pity.
