Day 52:
9:00 AM – Woke up to Spark trying to catch a reflection on the wall, chasing it in circles. The minions were already up and about, whispering excitedly. It turned out Grog had found an ancient map while cleaning the storage room, and it seemed to lead to a hidden treasure within the castle.
Interlude – Morning Mystery:
Grog: "Boss, look what I found!" Vortax: "An ancient map? Looks like today's going to be interesting."
10:00 AM – Gathered everyone in the dining hall to inspect the map. It was old and tattered, but the markings were clear enough to follow. The minions were buzzing with excitement, speculating about what kind of treasure might be hidden in our midst.
11:00 AM – We decided to split into teams to follow the clues. Seraphina and I took one group, while Grog led the other. The first clue directed us to the library, where we had to find a book that didn't belong. Spark, ever curious, tagged along, fluttering around our heads.
Interlude – Clue 1:
Seraphina: "A book that doesn't belong… any ideas?" Vortax: "Let's start with the cookbooks. If there's one on how to cook dragons, we'll know it's wrong."
12:00 PM – After a bit of searching, Spark found the odd book—a tome on underwater basket weaving in the section on ancient magic. Inside, we found the next clue, leading us to the armory.
1:00 PM – In the armory, we had to find a weapon that didn't fit. Spark, ever helpful, knocked over a display of swords, revealing a toy sword hidden among the real ones. The toy sword had a clue attached, pointing us to the dungeon.
Interlude – Clue 2:
Grog: "A toy sword? Who would put that here?" Vortax: "Someone with a sense of humor, clearly."
2:00 PM – The dungeon was dark and spooky, with cobwebs hanging from every corner. We searched for something out of place, eventually discovering a bright pink key hidden in a skull. The key had an inscription leading us to the courtyard.
3:00 PM – In the courtyard, we had to find a stone that didn't match the others. After much searching and some unhelpful suggestions from Spark (who was convinced every stone was the right one), Seraphina found a loose brick with the final clue.
Interlude – Clue 3:
Seraphina: "A pink key? Whoever hid this treasure had a flair for the dramatic." Vortax: "And apparently a penchant for interior decorating."
4:00 PM – The final clue led us to the throne room, where we had to solve a riddle. The riddle spoke of a hidden chamber behind the throne. After some trial and error, we found the hidden switch and a secret door opened, revealing a small, dusty room.
6:00 PM – Inside the hidden chamber, we found a treasure chest. The minions gathered around as we opened it, revealing a collection of ancient artifacts, gold coins, and a mysterious, glowing amulet. The minions cheered, and Spark let out an excited squeak, clearly pleased with our find.
Interlude – Treasure Triumph:
Minion: "We did it! Look at all this treasure!" Vortax: "And here I thought it was just going to be more scrolls for Spark to chew on."
8:00 PM – We celebrated our success with a grand feast in the dining hall. The minions were in high spirits, recounting their favorite moments from the treasure hunt. Spark, exhausted from all the excitement, curled up on Seraphina's lap and promptly fell asleep.
10:00 PM – Ended the day feeling accomplished and closer than ever to my newfound friends. The treasure hunt had been a perfect blend of adventure and teamwork, reminding us all that even in a castle full of mysteries, the greatest treasures are the bonds we share.
