Capítulo 2: The Marriage Ceremony
"Never expect love from me, my dear PRINCE. You might not be familiar with this kind of behaviour. However, I suggest you get used to it very soon. Because I won't be making any exceptions for you."
She added casually, as if it doesn;t matter anything to her. Prince Eric just looked down without a single word as he didn't have a choice but to say "no". Then he just nodded.
He continued to walk with her as she started to lead him toward the wedding venue. She was observing him as he walked beside her. While she smirked as she saw him not opposing her,
"I wonder if he grew submissive to being treasured?"
She wondered while she observed him but stopped thinking about that once they reached the aisle. Eric felt so humiliated to walk in front of the crowd when all eyes were on him in an awkward way. He thought in his mind,
"Why does it feel like I'm walking through hell? Even though the lady I'm about to marry looks like an angel descended from heaven, she is more like a devil. Well, vampires are dark creatures after all."
"She is a pure beauty but cold hearted. She had already shown her colour to me. I better not expect anything from her. I must give my full attention to surviving instead of seeking love from her."
They walked through a long aisle divided into two sections on two sides. The whole wedding is themed black and red as expected for a vampire wedding. After they reached the aisle, the ceremony started with both sides' witnesses.
The royal family and nobles of the Zenith empire were sitting on the left side, while the nobles of the Rosett empire were sitting on the right. As they saw them entering, everyone stood from their seats and a round of loud applause covered the wedding hall.
As Eric and Nashia stood in front of them, Nashia raised her hand and dropped slowly, giving them permission to sit as she spoke with elegance.
"Ladies and gentlemans. I'm Nashia Rosario. The reigning empress of the Rosett Empire. Thanking you all for attending our wedding. Our wedding held a specific meaning as it served as a peace-treaty."
"After a long fight of 15 years, we are here standing together looking forward to a future together. We wish all of your best wishes for us as we open a new chapter in our life and for the empire too. Eric, please convey your words now."
As she delivered her speech, everyone clapped loudly and waited for her speech. He gulped a little in nervousness but still stood straight and started to speak as he stood beside her.
"Hello. I'm Eric Leonardo. The first prince of the Zenith Empire and also the soon-to-be- emperor consort of this empire. As her majesty said, our marriage will serve as a token of a peace treaty between our empires. I'll do my best to be a worthy companion to her majesty. Please bestow your good wishes upon us."
Everyone stayed quiet as they heard him delivering his speech. The first clap was from Nashia herself with a sarcastic smirk hanging in the corner of her lips. Others followed her lead and started to clap. The ceremony officially started from that moment. At the ending of the ceremony, they both stood to exchange their rings and say their vows for each other.
"I vow to have and to hold you in my arms from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part."
Nashia spoke as she stood straight in front of him.
"I vow to honour you, love you and cherish you as my partner today and every day until our death. My life shall be dedicated to you."
Eric replied as he looked back at her. The priest spoke up as they stood facing each other hand in hand.
"Do you take Nashia Rosario, the empress of the Rosett Empire, as your wife and companion to death?"
"I do." A round of claps filled the air as Eric gave his consent.
"Do you take Eric Leonardo, the first prince of the Zenith Empire, as your husband and companion to death?"
"I do."
A big round of claps filled the wedding hall as Nashia gave her consent. The priest declared that they were now married. And they exchanged rings. Those two were rings matching couple-rings.
Both were completely black and with red ruby stone engraved in them. The ritual finished with the priest saying the words
"You may now kiss the bride".
As Eric heard his words, he looked at her. Noticing his stare, she simply leaned closer like a normal bride with a mild smile, hiding her sarcastic intention.
Eric doubted that behaviour a little good for her behaviour, but still he went with her flow and leaned in too. While Nashia was thinking in her own head,
"I wonder how much humans will like it when they see their prince is in a very good situation that he can't accept nor deny.. tsk."
She smirked before pressing her lips against his. As their lips pressed together for the kiss, she wrapped her hands around his neck.
She deepens the kiss instead of letting him go. He becomes stable as he holds her waist. She didn't let him go with such a short kiss that humans usually do at their weddings.
Instead, she bit on his inner lips and sucked a little blood during the kiss. Eric hissed as he felt her fangs digging into his flesh, but couldn't dare to make a scene. A few moments later, she let him go.
He stood there still with a little shocked expression. He is shocked by the kiss because it was not a normal kiss. He felt a little scared but tried his best not to show it. He doubts that his marriage life will go well.
