It doesn't take a real doctor to figure that the medicine the two people from the upstairs apartment—Karlie and Brad—gave us is the one thing keeping Mr. Chen and William from feeling their pain. Likely some very high doses of morphine—pain inducing medicine, Mr. Chen and William were out cold before the two acting pharmacists were out of the apartment. It seems Karlie knew what she was doing medicine-wise. And Brad, well, he has such a soothing voice that it was hard even for me not to fall asleep listening to him console Mr. Chen.
