Capítulo 13: Chapter 13
My mom and I rushed back to my room. We opened the door and we took Mandy out and ran her down to my mothers office. Mom opened the door while I had Mandy in my arms. We got in and I laid Mandy on the table in the room.
"How long has this been happening for?" Mom asked
"A couple weeks." I responds
Mom got out her stethoscope and check her heart rate. She announced it was normal. She turned Mandy on her side to check her breathing. Mom again announced it was normal.
"That what is it?" I screamed
"Honestly I don't know, I'm gonna need your father in here... And you need to go sit with Lola." Mom smiled
I walked out and told my father my mom needed him. I walked into the room, Travis was comforting Lola. I smiled and sat down. Lola looked up at me.
"Hey, is she okay?" Lola asked
"I don't know my parents are working it out." I say
"That's good." She weakly smiled
You could tell she was crying, it was obvious. Her mascara and eyeliner where running and she looked a mess. Travis took out a box of Kleenex from the bathroom. Lola wiped her eyes and blew her nose.
Myles walked in.
"Hey what's with all the- what happened?" He asked
"Mandy passed out, she's been acting weird for a while now." Lola sighed
"Does Stephen know?" Asked Myles
Oh no I totally forgot about Stephen!
"No we didn't tell him yet." I say
"I'll go tell him." Myles said running off toward Stephens room
"It's gonna be okay, Lola." Travis smiled
She smiled up at him. They shared this long gaze for a while until one of them broke it. I decided Lola was fine. I walked out to find Nick, Mandy's older brother who is also a hunter. He shared a room with a couple of his buddies. I opened the door to find him the state Mandy was in. I carried him down to my mothers office. I opened the door and laid him down by Mandy.
"What happened?" Mom asked
"I went to his room to find him to tell him what happened to his sister but I found him passed out on the floor." I say
"I'll make sure I check him out as well." Mom says
The door opens. Delilah held Keegan Doncaster in her arms. Keegan is a good friend of both Jace and Delilah.
"Did you find him passed out?" Asked mom
"Yeah, how'd you know?" Asked Delilah
"Same with them." She pointed to Mandy and Nick
Delilah set Keegan down. We walked out.
"Do you see a pattern here?" I ask
"What?" Asked Delilah
"They're all hunters." I say
"Yeah?"
"That means the hunters are all coming down with something the rest of us aren't." I say
"What do you suggest we do?" She asked
"Get all of the hunters and bring them to my parent, because who knows what is happening to them." I say
Jackson came running down the hall with Eleanor in his arms.
"Is Eleanor a hunter?" I ask him
"Yes."
"Bring her to my mother." I say
Jackson and Eleanor started dating the other day. Honestly I don't think their that cute together but who cares.
Then Delilah and I split to search all the rooms. I found Rose Lynch and brought her down. Delilah took Robert and Angie down. I found Vanessa Lynch and took her down.
"Eight people, what is going on?" Asked mom
"Cathy I think I might know." Dad said
"What do you mean?" Mom asked
"We've made a serum that makes them hunt hunters instead of supernatural, I think it might be corrupting their DNA, which may cause a mutation that could kill them." He said
"Why'd you put that in my bet friend?" I cry
"I had no choice!" He shouted
"Yes you did, you always have a choice over your action! I'm so mad at you right now words can't describe." I say
I walked out. I bumped into Nathaniel and Dallas while walking out. I kept walking to my room.
I opened the door and slammed it. I ran to my bed and flopped on. Lola and Travis looked worried.
"My dumbass father injected Mandy with something he hadn't tested yet and it could possibly kill her and seven other people." I say, "As soon as we can we are leaving."
"What do you mean?" Travis asked
"They obviously aren't looking out for our best interests here." I say
"What do you mean?" Lola asked
"THEY'VE PRACTICALLY KILLED MANDY! WHAT DO YOU MEAN?" I yelled
I huffed and planted my face in my pillow. The door opened and shut. I turned around to see Myles and Stephen in my room.
"Is Mandy okay?" Stephen asked
"She could die." I say
"What?" He asks
"She could possibly die, do you people need hearing aids?" I ask
Stephen started to cry. He wasn't sobbing but tears fell down his face. Myles hugged Stephen and looked at me.
"Where is she?" Myles asked
"My mothers office." I say
They walked out and the door shut.
"That was cold Adena." Travis says
I look at him. He looked at me with an eyebrow lifted.
"Hey do you not understand that I've been through enough today? I not only had to carry Mandy down, but I had to find and carry the rest of the hunters down. Okay today is just not a happy day for me." I said pacing around
I failed to face the door the whole time. Lola and Travis had their eyes fixed on the door. I looked at it and it was open. And in the doorway was Mandy. I ran to her and engulfed her with a big hug.
"So two didn't make it." Mandy sighed
"Who?" Travis asked
"Eleanor Carter and Rose Lynch." Mandy said
"How's Jackson taking it?" I asked
"Not well, Nicks okay though." Mandy smiled at the fact her and her brother where okay
"I'm glad your back Mandy." I smiled
We all welcomed her back. Soon enough Myles and Stephen walked in. Stephen was a wreck. He ran over to Mandy and hugged her so tight I swear her her head could've popped off.
"I'm so glad your okay." He whispered, "I love you... Don't ever do that to me again."
You could hear his muffed cries from Mandy's shoulder.
