Capítulo 12: Chapter 12
I sat on the cold snowy ground, as the frosty gales blew gently on the cliff side. There was a fear that welled inside my stomach that would not let off after so many moments. I had a talk with Valkyr's mom after the events of this morning, and it wasn't the pleasant kind of talk about a mother thanking for the saving of her daughter.
Well, the beginning it was. However, it was more of a when are you two really going to seal the deal. I wasn't entirely ready for something big like that, nor was I even ready for anytype of relationship. Although it was my fault that I had led Valkyr on, I do like her a lot. You haven't come across a woman like her in a thousand years.
"So this is where you were." I heard a soft voice behind me. Turning around, I saw Valkyr's snowy features just inches from mine. "What were you thinking about?" She asked.
"Ahem," I coughed in embarrassment, "Oh just some complicated things."
"Really?" She said as she sat with me. I realised that she wasn't wearing her usual attire, instead dawning a long leather dress with a thick cloak over it.
"Yeah, I just don't know what to do right now. I was given a rather difficult decision to make." I sighed, "I know what I want, but I just don't know if I'm ready to make the decision just yet." I told her.
"Do you want to tell me about it?" She looked at me with a caring gaze, "My mother once said that I'm pretty good at coaxing people."
"Maybe, but I'm not sure if you can help with this one." I chuckled. After all, it was one about her.
"How can you be so sure?" She persisted.
"Hah~" Giving up I looked at her directly, "Valkyr, have you ever liked someone before? Maybe even loved?"
Hearing my question she looked towards the ocean. The two of us waited in cold silence for a while. "Once in my life." She finally said. "It's the first time I've felt something like it actually."
"Really?" I was shocked. Her mother had said to me once that she never really had anyone in her interest before. So now I was quite curious about who this first love was. "Who was it?"
"I had only known him for some time," She answered. "But, he gave me this strange feeling every time I saw him. When I brought it up to my mother she said that maybe it was my gut telling me that there was something wrong with the person. This was different, every moment we spent together felt warm."
"What happened to him?" I asked, the person must've left an impression on her if she knew him for a short time.
"He disappeared." She said, "One day, when he said he was going to do something. The next day came and I never saw him again, we always saw each other everyday after meeting." She explained, "After he disappeared I felt this heavy feeling, I couldn't sleep, I couldn't eat, nothing I did seemed good anymore. What about you?" She switched the topic to me.
"Me?" I paused for a moment, carefully putting my thoughts into words. "There is someone that I like a lot. Though I don't know if we're ready to push it forwards yet, she might be but I feel like I'm lacking something."
"What could you be lacking? You're a great warrior, a great smith, and you showed that you're good at defeating dragons," She said. "No woman wouldn't want that from their man," Her words came to a slight whisper.
"Even if I've only known her for a short time?" I asked.
"When that person disappeared I had a lot of time to think." She suddenly said, "Maybe I should've told him what I felt, what if he won't come back at all?"
"Did he come back?"
"He did." She nodded, "When he did, I knew I had to tell him."
Feeling heavy, I didn't want to hear the answer to the question I was going to ask. Did she already have someone she loves? Everything that we did together was just her being nice to me? Taking a deep breath in, I steeled myself to ask, "Did you tell him?"
"I will now," Hearing her words I felt a forceful pull on my shirt. I felt something cold contact my lips, as cold as it was, there was a warmth that came from that feeling. I opened my eyes wide in shock as Valkyr had pulled me in for a kiss.
The two of us stayed suspended in time as we enjoyed each other's embrace. Only when the two of us could no longer breathe we separated. Our eyes met, and at that moment we knew that the two of us could no longer go back to the way things were before.
"Va-" As I opened my mouth to say something she placed her index finger to hush me.
"Don't say anything." She quickly said, her face turning flush after realising what she had just done. I could see a glint shine within her eyes, "Let me enjoy this."

"I'm sorry I got carried away," Valkyr shyly covered her face. The two of us bathed in each other's warmth as our bodies held each other closely. Seeing her state I couldn't help but chuckle, I guess I was too dense to realise who she was talking about earlier.
"I'm sorry too." I held her close, "I didn't consider your feelings, I was too selfish." If she hadn't taken the first steps, I was sure that I probably wouldn't have said anything. I was too caught up in myself that I didn't consider how I would have affected her. Feeling myself released from my own prison, I hugged Valkyr even more afraid that it might all be a dream.
"It's okay, I've read in the south that your people take time to court one another. I figured that you might have taken interest in me, but you need to take some responsibility. Who wouldn't fall for your sweet talking, if I didn't do anything you might've charmed another villager." She complained, "I couldn't handle you not being here for a couple days, let alone trying to get another girl."
"Please, I had no one else in my sights. The first time I saw you, my fate was already sealed. I didn't know it would happen so fast." I explained.
"Hmm," She hummed in response. "What now?"
"I don't know either," I honestly told her, "I've never been in a relationship before."
"Not even when you were out adventuring?" She curiously asked. "With someone of your ability I'm surprised you haven't even had someone."
"I never had the time," I said, "I was always doing work and dealing with issues that come up. I had people display their interest in me, but I've always turned them down."
We sat in silence again, viewing the waves slosh around as frost formed above their layers. "Let's go back to your mom now, before we get cold." I told her, but she refused to get up. "What's wrong?"
"What if I was still dreaming?" She asked.
"Haha," I laughed, "I promise you, we're in the real world. If it was a dream, I'll run over to you when we wake up, and confess my feelings."
"Okay, that's a deal!" She happily stood back up. "Let's go!"

Aspiring_Author_4480 Sorry for the short chapter guys and girls. I had so much trouble writing this one, since it felt off moving their relationship this fast. But I also made the mistake of moving it quickly at the beggining, so I can only blame myself. I've rewritten this chapter at least 10 times now. Twice a day for the past 5 days at least, now I've been free from this curse.
I will post chapter more chapters this week to make it up to you all, hopefully I'll be able to write more chapters before hitting another road block.
I haven't edited any chapters either, since school has been quite busy in case any one went on patreon to look for them.
Also, I want to try my hand at writing "lemon" scenes, but someone I know is reading this and I too chicken. Romance is hard enough already for a single dog like me. One day I might, but not in the near future.
