Capítulo 51: Mind Overload
It had been about a week since I checked up on the research progress and I was back at the space station where we had set up a comprehensive lab with lots of spare materials and everyone's research out in the open for me to mess with. I also purchased a spell to help me move much faster to hopefully keep up with my mind.
Rio: "Okay is everything here and accounted for?"
Tex: "Yes sir."
Rio: "Okay in 5 seconds I will activate the skill. Get ready. Greater Haste."
After 5 seconds I activate Mind Overload and I am shocked at the world around me as I can perceive everything around me as if it was in slow motion. I don't waste time and quickly move to the nearest computer that has the future reactor tech. I summon many clones who I had theorized were similarly boosted. They begin the construction of the device I have thought of. In less than a minute we had gathered all the required pieces. We put them together before I started to talk.
Rio: "#####HJN#$)%"
I realized my mind was making me speak nonsense as I had to slow down my speech so I could be understood.
Rio: "Sorry, Lex I need you to create a barrier between the Dark Matter and Arc reactors when I say so. Clone 13 you will be used as a physical conduit there when I say so. Now turn on the Fusion reactor."
HUMMMM
Rio: "Now the Mega Reactor!"
BRMMMM
Rio: "Now the Covenant reactor!"
VEEEENNN
A large power surge began.
Rio: "Dark Matter Reactor!"
The Dark Matter Reactor is quiet but I ignore it.
Rio: "Barrier!"
Lex uses his ring to make a barrier.
Rio: "Arc Reactor!"
CREEEENNN
Rio: "Conduit!"
The Clone grabs the two reactors making him a conduit.
Rio: "Clones start connecting!"
The Clones start adding wires and cables to the different reactors.
Rio: "Lex remove the Barrier!"
A massive surge of power nearly blinds everyone.
Rio: "Clone 13 dispel."
BOOOOOOM
With the Clone dispelling an implosion occurs but no one is hurt instead everyone is gawking at the ball of metal that has a ball of pure energy inside it.
Rio: "There we have now created a new reactor which should be stable. Now we just need to work on creating an easier way to make them. As well as better containment."
Lex looks at me and looks worried.
Lex: "Rio your nose is bleeding."
Rio: "It is just a minor side effect of my body trying to compensate for the massive increase in brain power. My mind is currently running numerous processes at once. I even got a new skill called Parallel Processing. Now let's hurry up and continue our work, I only have 1 hour 43 minutes, and 13 seconds left before I crash."
Everyone hurries to continue the work and after an hour and a half almost exactly we finally produce a reactor in an easy-to-replicate process.
Faraday: "The reactor is stable and from what I am seeing is producing 28.1 times the combined power of all the reactors put together."
Faraday looks at me and goes a little pale.
Faraday: "Rio your eyes are bleeding! You need to stop now!"
Rio: "It is just a minor side effect I can still go for about 12 more minutes. Now Orochimaru let's start with the Spartan program."
Orochimaru looks worried but complies anyway. I look over the research and see a few ways to improve it.
Rio: "Substitute this chemical for formula 73 and use this metal for the implants instead. Curie do you have the research Vault-Tec did in cryostasis?"
Curie: "Yes monsieur."
Rio: "Pull it up on this computer!"
I look over the data and what they made.
Rio: "Use this chemical to induce a Cryostasis before and after the operations. Then use these 2 chemicals to reduce the likelihood of rejection of the implants and cybernetics. Finally, use Formula 73 and this chemical to create a numbing agent to reduce the pain suffered by the patients."
I start to profusely bleed from my orifices and I calculate I have less than a minute before my body shuts down.
Rio: "I have only a few seconds left so remember to use the Super Stimpaks during stages 2 and 7..."
I collapse on the ground.
Lex: "Curie is he alright!?"
Curie: "Scanning. He has lost just under a liter of blood but his vitals are stable. Scans indicate reduced brain function. If what he has said before is true he will awake from this coma in less than 24 hours."
Everyone lets out a sigh of relief.
Lex: "Did we get everything recorded?"
Tails: "All 128 cameras caught all we need."
Lex: "Good now let's get him to the med bay then we can work on cleaning up the lab."
POV Nick Fury
I was sitting in my office going over damage reports of Godzilla's rampage.
'We lost 87 bases across the world with most being in the USA. We only have around 42 bases still operational. Of which most are in Europe and Asia. The US has seen Trillions of dollars in damage. Entire cities are uninhabitable due to radiation. We have lost around 263k civilians and almost 70% of Shield personnel. We still don't know how Godzilla kept appearing at all of our bases. I don't even know how I am still the Director of Shield with the mess that has happened.'
I stop reading when I hear a knock at the door. I covered the file I was reading.
Fury: "Come in."
Coulson: "I have the finished report on where Godzilla came from."
I take the file and wait for an oral report.
Fury: "Go ahead."
Coulson: "We tracked the unique radiation signature of Godzilla to Lake Turkana in Africa. Specifically in the borders of Wakanda. We had some of our agents go to investigate and found that Wakanda was the first target. The population of Wakanda has been reduced to less than 200. Their former capital is a radioactive crater. Rads have been recorded up to 460/s in some areas. The area is so radioactive that we haven't been able to investigate the entire city or rather its ruins. We have been able to confirm that Godzilla was likely buried in the Lake and was awoken by someone. See page 4 for the visuals."
Fury: "Do we have any idea who woke it up?"
Coulson: "We can't say for certain but some evidence suggests it was Team Galactic. We haven't been able to track down their leader but I have the report on what we have found so far. We only think Team Galactic is involved as they are the first group to appear after Godzilla shows up and they take everything our bases have. Further, we have scattered reports of Neon Teal hair people being seen in Africa before Godzilla was seen for the first time."
Fury: "Give me what we have found on Team Galactic."
Coulson hands me another file before starting his oral report.
Coulson: "We have managed to get photos of a few of their higher-ranked members. The ones we have caught on camera so far are named Saturn and Mars. We obtained their names from some cameras that managed to capture some audio. We have gathered that there are 2 more commanders but we don't know who they are and they haven't been caught on camera. We have learned the name of their leader, his name is Cyrus but we haven't found any info besides his name. The low-level members of the group are called grunts and they carry P90s as their standard weapons. We have no idea how many members they have. We have also never found a dead member of their group. They leave behind no evidence after they leave. They are responsible for the attacks on at least 20 bases but they have scrapped over 50 bases that were destroyed by Godzilla. They are extremely well-trained and disciplined, they have limited to no talking when they execute a mission."
Fury: "Do we know what country they originate from?"
Coulson: "No sir, they have been found to speak multiple languages. Facial recognition has turned up with no results. However, that is partially because the tactical visor covers most of their faces. As for skin color, they are all white but our search through most white-majority countries has turned up no leads so far."
Fury: "Sigh. Okay keep looking into them we need to find out where they are coming from so we can eliminate them. Next, has Godzilla really vanished?"
Coulson: "We can't say for certain but the last known location was the Pacific Ocean after it wiped out our Hong Kong base and fought with the Chinese Navy. It dived to a depth of 20k meters and we lost it. It hasn't been detected by any of our satellites or any navy. We will keep a look out for it but it hasn't been seen for 25 hours which is the longest it has gone without attacking something."
Fury: "Let me know the second it appears again. The last thing was that the Security Council asked us to assist Interpol in its efforts to combat Team Rocket. I know we have very few agents to spare but just make a small team to be sent to Interpol to help them."
Coulson: "I will make the team right away."
Fury: "Next do you have the report on the reverse engineering of the LexCorp products?"
Coulson: "Yes sir, we have made almost no progress."
Coulson hands me a file and I look through it and see we have basically learned what the Stimpaks, RadAways, and Rad-Xs can do but almost nothing about how they are made.
Fury: "How have we not managed to figure out how they are made?"
Coulson: "The containers that all the products come in are vacuum sealed and when exposed to the atmosphere they spoil almost immediately. Further, the containers are difficult to breach. Our best researchers have analyzed some of the ingredients but all they learned was that it contains water and antiseptic. Beyond that, they found traces of organic material but so far haven't identified what it is. As for our spies, they never make it far in LexCorp before getting fired or shipped off to a useless location. Hacking has failed completely. If I can speak freely."
Fury: "Go ahead."
Coulson: "I think trying to learn how to make the products or trying to learn their secrets is a waste of our limited resources. We are still recovering from Godzilla and we are still under attack by Team Galactic. With our resources spread so thin, it is more cost-effective to just buy the products."
I give some thought to his words and see the reasoning behind it.
Fury: "Very well have the project stopped and send our people to jobs more important. Store whatever we learned in storage and make it so we can restart the project at another time."
Coulson: "I will do so after this brief."
Fury: "If there is nothing else you are dismissed."
POV Alexander Pierce
I was reading over the damage reports that Hydra has faced when I got a call I had been waiting for.
Pierce: "Hello."
Brock: "Sir, we have lost the target."
Pierce: "I thought you said you had cornered her? How could she have escaped you?"
Brock: "We cornered her but suddenly we got caught up in a gang war and the target killed several agents before escaping while my men and I were pinned down by the gangs. I managed to escape but the rest of my team didn't make it."
Pierce: "What gangs were they?"
Brock: "The Irish Mob and a group called Team Rocket."
Pierce: "Damn it, I know of Team Rocket they are the group Kingpin is at war with. We can't go to war with them now. Just ignore them and I will send you another team with better equipment. Track down the target and don't fail again."
Brock: "Yes sir!"
I hang up the phone and move to begin the meeting with the other head.
Sitwell: "Pierce, I hear you still haven't caught the target. I hope you know she must be recaptured at all costs."
Pierce: "I know I have my best man on the job. Now have we been able to get in contact with Stryker?"
Sitwell: "No, he is still in the wind, and with the resource constraints I haven't been able to find him."
Pierce: "What about the analysis of the Godzilla sample I gave you?"
Sitwell: "They are all gone."
Pierce: "What? What do you mean they are all gone?"
Sitwell: "Exactly what I said they have all disappeared or dissolved we aren't certain. Moreover, we weren't able to get any details on the DNA of the creature before all the samples disappeared."
Pierce: "So all the resources we poured into the project have been wasted?"
Sitwell: "Yes, unfortunately. Have you learned if that Team Galactic was controlling the beast?"
Pierce: "No, but Shield has learned that they likely woke it up and they suspect that they were also the one teleporting Godzilla around to all our facilities. Speaking of which how many bases do we have still operational?"
Sitwell: "I was only able to confirm 17 bases still being operational, with 4 more still being investigated. We need to get in contact with Team Galactic to try and negotiate with them or at least infiltrate them. They have caused us catastrophic damage and I will not stand for it."
Pierce: "I don't think we are in a position to combat them at this time."
Sitwell: "Now, definitely not, but after a year or 2 we should be good enough to attack and absorb them. Have you made a new storage for the Winter Soldier?"
Pierce: "Yes, I had to place it in our old Canadian base."
Sitwell: "Are you sure that is wise? That base was abandoned decades ago."
Pierce: "It's exactly why I chose it. Most people don't know about it and most old records about it were destroyed long ago. The dam provides shelter and secrecy. I hope to place the target there since their old base was destroyed."
Sitwell: "Very well, has Godzilla vanished?"
Pierce: "Shield isn't 100% certain but it is likely that it has retreated to the bottom of the Pacific Ocean to sleep again. At least that is what I think based on where it came from."
Sitwell: "Let us hope you are correct, or else Hydra might not survive. Has Zola given new guidance?"
Pierce: "He said that we must do everything in our power to see Project Insight succeed. I have managed to get the Security Council to send far more resources to get the Helicarriers online. Godzilla made them realize the value of them. From the calculation Zola has made the project will be done 3-4 years earlier than expected thanks to the extra funds and the addition of technologies from LexCorp and the Techno Union."
Sitwell: "At least we have some good news. Keep me up to date on the progress and I will look into finding Stryker."
Pierce: "Will do. Hail Hydra!"
Sitwell: "Hail Hydra!"
The call ends and I get to work getting on what I need to do to ensure Hydra survives this crisis.

Parallel Processing lvl: 47/100

This skill allows the mind to create metaphysical copies of the mind to allow the processing of numerous complex thoughts at once. Skill must be activated to use. Use should be limited due to the strain it puts on the user's mind. An additional mind copy is created every 25 levels. Levels by using minds to solve complex problems, the more complex the faster the growth.
