Capítulo 7: Task in the Land of Waves
"Time to change the bandages!" The female nurse who entered spoke.
With someone coming in, Ino, who had been shy from the confession, became even more flustered.
Her face flushed deeper as she said, "I-I'll be leaving now, Furen-kun."
With that, she turned and left in a rush, leaving the nurse completely baffled by her sudden departure.
Furen had his back turned as the nurse began to unwrap his bandages, while he observed his newly acquired skill on the system panel.
Mind Body Chaos Technique.
"Mind Body Chaos Technique; if I remember correctly, it's similar to the Mind Transfer Technique, allowing control over others without having to transfer my spirit into their body," Furen thought to himself.
Tilting his head slightly, he noticed that the nurse who was unwrapping his bandages had begun to blush.
"Your physique is quite good; fortunately, the wound is not in a place difficult to heal. You should be able to be discharged tomorrow after this change," the nurse said.
"Thank you."
After the nurse finished re-bandaging his wound, Furen turned to look into her eyes and softly said, "Mind Body Chaos Technique."
The nurse's body stiffened, and then her head lowered.
Furen instantly felt his consciousness split into two; one part remained in his own body, while the other entered the nurse's body, leaving her spirit in a deep sleep.
"It seems that my Mind Body Chaos Technique, derived from the Mind Transfer Technique, has quite a few differences compared to the original version," he noted.
His version of the Mind Body Chaos Technique put the nurse into a deep sleep, allowing him complete control over her body, somewhat like his Shadow Clone technique.
While they both spoke at the same time, Furen struggled to manage both bodies at once.
After about ten minutes, he sensed the nurse's spirit beginning to stir, indicating that she was about to wake up.
Furen quickly released the Mind Body Chaos Technique.
"To control someone with the Mind Body Chaos Technique, my chakra must be sufficient. It seems I can only control a low-ranked ninja for about ten minutes," he reflected.
In the Hokage's Office.
Kakashi looked at Furen's file that the Third Hokage handed him and asked, "Third Hokage, do you really want to add Furen to Team Seven?"
The Third Hokage nodded solemnly as he donned his Hokage hat.
"I know you're concerned about whether Furen meets your expectations for valuing teammates," the Third Hokage said. After leaving the hospital, he had gone to observe Kakashi's test with Naruto and the others.
"You should know about Furen's actions last night; he took on the danger himself to let Naruto escape first," the Third Hokage said, a smile of appreciation on his aged face. "If I'm not mistaken, he already possesses his own Will of Fire."
Hearing the Third Hokage's evaluation, Kakashi was taken aback. "The Will of Fire…"
Kakashi knelt on one knee. "Understood."
The Third Hokage waved his hand. "No need for that; you are no longer part of the Anbu."
...
Although Furen's injuries were self-inflicted and not fatal, and he had medical ninjutsu to heal himself quickly, he decided to wait for his wounds to heal naturally.
During this time, Sakura and Naruto learned that Furen would be joining their class. Upon hearing this, Sakura rushed to the hospital to keep Furen company during the night before his discharge.
Naruto was also happy to have Furen in his class. Sasuke was indifferent but still came with Kakashi to visit Furen.
As for Ino, who had just confessed to him… she seemed a bit down upon learning he would be in the same class as Sakura. She only came once to visit him, her gaze occasionally dodging Furen's, seemingly afraid of being rejected after her confession.
However, Ino's feelings for Furen hadn't diminished at all; she still held the highest favorability among the girls Furen was pursuing at 86%. After Sakura boasted about being in the same class with him, it even increased by 1%, bringing it to 87%.
Having learned of his heroic deeds, the favorability of Ten Ten and Hinata also rose, reflected on the system's favorability panel.
Host: Tsukiyo Furen
Sakura Haruno: Favorability 80%
Ino Yamanaka: Favorability 86%
Hinata Hyuga: Favorability 49%
Ten Ten: Favorability 49%
Looking at the panel, Furen noticed both Ten Ten and Hinata at 49%, just shy of 50% for a chance to draw a prize. He felt tempted but realized he had no opportunity to meet them due to the busy tasks of being a newly minted genin.
"It's fine; the Chunin Exams should be approaching after we complete the mission in the Land of Waves," Furen thought to himself.
Following Kakashi and the others to the village's mission board, they completed a D-rank mission of catching a missing cat. Naruto could no longer hold back and complained, "Third Hokage, I don't want D-rank missions anymore! We want something higher, like S-rank!"
The Third Hokage looked over a table full of mission requests and, after some hesitation, picked out a C-rank mission to hand to Kakashi.
"This time it's a C-rank escort mission," Kakashi explained with a smile to Furen and the others.
"Where are we going?" Naruto asked excitedly upon hearing it was an escort mission.
Before Kakashi could respond, a scruffy old man with glasses leaning against the doorframe interjected, "You're going to the Land of Waves."
