I sniffed and cleaned my tears but more tears rushed down my face in the futile attempt.

Iris and Lily were both holding onto me and we were latched on one another as though we were our lifelines.

We stood there as they took our father's body and put it into a black bag. We tried to reach for him but a police officer was holding us back.

I have never seen so many police officers in my life. Our village is a quiet and peaceful place so it's hard to see any crimes around here.
