Madam Eugene kicks the bucket unexpectedly and leaves everyone sad and mourning. Rose collapses when they got back from the funeral.

NINETY-TWO

I craned an eye open as my body was suddenly hit with consciousness. My blurry vision took a few seconds to adjust to the light in the room.

I faced the ceiling and remained there for some minutes, my body feeling too worn out to move. I realized I was in my room after some thinking.

I slowly raised my right arm and pushed myself up, I groaned as I rested my body on the headboard.

I felt movement beside me and I see Chloe waking up from the chair in which she sat. She squinted her eyes and when she saw me, her eyes widened.

"Rose, you're awake!" She exclaimed.

I opened my mouth to say something but nothing came out except a strangled choke. I used my hand to hold my neck which burned from the effort.
