Capítulo 49: Searching

Indigo and Jardan remained by Callie’s side. While one slept, the other sat next to the bed and held the girl’s limp hand. A TV was turned on for background noise, but neither one watched it with any attention. Only Callie had their complete focus.

Their family and friends were in and out as they brought the two food and anything else they needed. Life continued outside the hospital room for all but Jardan and Indigo.

Stephen poured over books, looking for solutions to Callie’s coma. He worked with xxxxxx who gave the Dianthian access to ancient texts that nearly had the doctor crying with joy. His hands shook every time he touched the aged parchment.

Remedio took the time to interrogate Santos who had been moved to the hospital on the floor above Callie’s room. He received medication to ease the decline of his health and the deterioration of his body. Tests repeatedly showed his body breaking apart from the attack of the virus. He was dying.
