Is the unjust man condemned to destruction? Haldor's eyes moved slightly as he observed the army of armored bears, which were actually his strongest asset, while his white-caped warriors stood in silver armor. "It seems we are about to recount many good deeds for our children, grandchildren, and friends."
When Baba Voss lowered his head to look at his soldiers beside their horses, he said, "They will have to choose whether to die here for a king who threatened them or live to have better opportunities."
No one sought a war out of selfishness, and no one felt angry with the dragons of the South because injustice had long been lost in the winters. What everyone sought was new territory in which to start over and, of course, to stay away from the White Walkers.
Living in hostile terrain, they had spent their entire lives on constant alert, which had given them a certain rationality about life. Definitely, everyone appreciated what was good and understood how to differentiate priorities.
But if those people behind the Wall denied them survival, that's when nothing would matter to them before starting the war if they were attacked against them and their people.
"Two weeks have passed, and we will head home if we cannot enter the grounds of that wall. Later, we will return with an army and take it by force." Haldor knew he could not be guided by his initial thoughts, but this is what he believed.
As he advanced with his dragon, he looked towards the wall, and surely the watchmen should have seen him. Now it was just a matter of waiting for their response; he wanted to find out what decision they would make and then move accordingly.
But they did not make him wait when two knights with House Stark flags came out of the tower, heading towards where Haldor was.
"The Lord of the North has requested your presence, alone and without a dragon."
"Are you ordering me or just sharing the message your Lord sent me?" Haldor would not act needy; he did not want to give a possible enemy the chance to have control over him.
The knight, realizing his mistake, said hastily, "I apologize; I am just the messenger; I don't know."
"It's fine, no dragons." Haldor stood up and looked back, and at that moment, Luker stepped forward, wearing his armor over his massive white body.
Haldor looked Luker up and down, who seemed to have volunteered. Finally, he couldn't help but ask, "Are you going to give me the honor of riding on your back?"
"One more joke, and you'll have to ride a horse." Luker's expression did not change, but the knight sent by House Stark almost fainted when he heard a fully armored polar bear speak.
"Damn, these idiots will die before they reach their king." Luker couldn't help but get annoyed.
Haldor smiled a little, something he hadn't done much since arriving, and said, "Well, I'll need a bit of your wisdom."
"It's your grandfather; if he doesn't let you in, then we'll kill them all." Luker wanted some action, being a warrior beast, so he wouldn't mind facing thousands alone.
Under these conditions, Haldor didn't want to participate; of course, he was interested in peace, but he wouldn't run away from war. Climbing onto Luker's back, they both followed the knights of House Stark and soon entered a tunnel where they were stopped.
"You must hand over your weapons."
"Do you really think I care about weapons when using that door?" Haldor asked the guard ironically, who was only looking at Luker's cold expression.
"Let them in; there's no need to take away their weapons." At that moment, a cold but noble voice was heard from inside, and a man with black hair appeared in the distance.
Haldor, who entered with Luker, looked at this man and many more with bows in hand, his gaze showing no fear. "Thank you for accepting my invitation. I am Haldor, and I come in peace."
"We will find that out when we talk."
"I say the same." Luker once again left everyone speechless.
Haldor, who looked at all these people, thought, 'I shouldn't have brought him...'
