In no time, the most special details were swiftly handled. Haldor realized that part of his fleet had gone directly to the designated area and would soon begin modifications to make it an ideal living space.
The city wouldn't be built in a year or two; it would take a long time to become functional and prosper. However, they knew that in a land with better conditions and many animals to hunt, survival would be fundamental.
Part of the camp in this area was removed, and according to what they had agreed upon, they would have a small territory where the armored bears and those who did not wish to live in warm places could prosper honorably.
As for the current castle they were in, it was not returned because they planned to use it as a strategic outpost in case of betrayal.
"We need to clear these areas and use the wood for cooking and heating water, but remember that the best quality wood should be reserved for the houses."
"Will we make wooden houses?"
"No, we will use a more resistant and durable material. The wood will be used for essential household furniture. Lower-quality wood can be used as fuel and food; it won't be as bad as it sounds."
Haldor was watching the builders, who were following his plans to the letter. He had taught them how to measure and achieve good performance using knowledge they previously lacked.
Now, with detailed plans of what they needed to do, they could create a city incredible enough to be the envy of other cities.
"What materials will we use to build the houses?"
"Only cement for the walls."
Throughout history, cement has been the main construction material used by humanity. Portland cement and its derivatives are made primarily from limestone, clay, and gypsum, which are abundant minerals in nature.
"Wouldn't it be faster to use only wood?"
"No, we must build the foundations for future generations."
"That's what I'm talking about."
The mixture of cement with water, sand, and aggregates resulted in a new material that could be easily molded and, when hardened, acquired notable characteristics of solidity, resistance, and durability. Of course, Haldor was not interested in any material other than these.
They had methods to harden materials, but these were very useful for the construction Haldor had in mind for the new city.
Additionally, reclaiming the territories of the Rhoynar would take time because there was a curse in that area, and the stone men would not be easy to control.
"My prince, you have a letter." Lucian approached, holding a letter that had been sent to Haldor.
When Haldor received it, he frowned slightly.
"Something wrong?"
"I have to attend a tournament being held in the capital to meet my betrothed. The madness begins, I suppose." Haldor had many things to do, but he would attend that tournament for many reasons.
"It's not a bother."
