Yeo Ri had received the texts and calls from Gun just as she reached close to home.
She did not want him to know that she was not at home, so she planned to answer her phone only when she was in the privacy of her apartment. Besides, she also did not want Secretary Kwon to hear her conversation with her brother.
"I'm thankful that you sent me back, but please stop following me in the future. Also, please tell Mr. Heo to mind his own business," Yeo Ri had said to the man before she exited the car.
"I shall inform Mr. Heo of your words, miss. Have a good evening. Goodbye," Secretary Kwon had replied perfunctorily. From his unflinching gaze, it was clear that he had no intentions of heeding the young girl's words. In any case, he was on Heo Woo Seung's payroll, and he'll only stop his task if the big man says so. Nevertheless, he still reported the girl's words to Mr. Heo after she had left.
Yeo Ri was in the middle of fixing herself a meal when Gun returned to their home.
"Welcome home, Oppa," Yeo Ri popped her head out from their tiny kitchen to greet him.
"I'm back," Gun replied with a smile. He could smell the scent of food and even though he already ate a little at the party, he still felt slightly famished. His stomach grumbled, seduced by the tantalising smell of Yeo Ri's cooking.
"Yeo Ri-ah, did you take a bath? Why didn't you dry your hair properly?" Gun looked at her with disapproval as he walked over to the kitchen. He noticed her still-wet hair and sighed with slight vexation.
"Oh, I forgot," Yeo Ri flashed a sheepish smile. "Don't be mad, Oppa."
"I'll be mad if you fall sick because you didn't dry your hair properly," he rebuked. He fetched a clean, dry towel and gestured for her to sit down so he could dry it. "You spoiled little girl," he helplessly sighed, "what am I going to do with you?"
"Hehe," Yeo Ri laughed, feeling amused. Her brother was too doting. It wasn't like she'd actually get sick just because she walked around with wet hair.
"Oppa, go wash up; I'll set up the table," Yeo Ri said just as Gun was finally satisfied with his handiwork.
"Mm."
Gun did not want to irritate Yeo Ri with the smell of liquor that was clinging on his clothes so he obediently went to wash up and change his clothes.
The two sat together at the small dining table, enjoying a light dinner while chatting.
They told each other about their day.
However, Yeo Ri made sure not to let anything slip about her little escapade earlier.
Once they were done, Gun helped Yeo Ri with the cleaning and they both retired to bed, preparing themselves for the upcoming busy days.
This chapter was too short, but I couldn’t fit it in the previous chapter, and I didn’t think it’d flow smoothly if I combined it with the next chapter, so double release, yay.
