Capítulo 300: Katie's Task (2)

After Katie had been ushered out, the only sounds in the room were the light and periodic tweets and chirps of the birds outside, coming in through the window.

"What are you going to do with her?"

"Find out what she knows and what she had been tasked to do."

"Will …. Will she be alive afterwards?"

"If you want her to be…." Ian added swiftly, holding his mother's gaze.

Geneva sighed, "I – She has been with me all these years a-"

"I understand."

Ian simply said and Geneva did not continue. The tacit understanding had been reached.

"It's about time for the new mistress of the Thornston household to take over."

Geneva and Alex nodded, "Suzie is more than enough to handle and oversee the household." Geneva was pained, and she tried to hold that in. Her hunch had been correct. She had kept this from Katie but never knew that Katie would send the message across as soon as she heard of it.
