Capítulo 56: CHAPTER 56: CONNECTIONS

After completing making the sauce. Tapiwa finally had time to look at other things she had completely set aside because of how busy and concentrated she was.

Ba Denis, whom she contracted with to build a few buildings on her piece of land; had already started clearing off the trees.

The man and his team had been very busy. And standing from afar, she could see that their pace was very good. And they would probably be done by the end of the following day.

She didn't need to worry about professionals. And since she could get her job done without interfering much, Tapiwa just wanted to go there and observe when it was necessary and not all the time.

Besides that, she had other important things to do, rather than go and look at sweaty men cutting down trees and digging out roots. She wasn't too idle for that.

After cooking the sauce, the next step was to find buyers. People or businesses she was going to supply to in the future.

Of course, she wasn't going to announce to the world that she was capable of making too much sauce. As that would bring trouble to her door when she least expects it.

So, she decided to find a way to go around the trouble.

With at least five bottles with her, and the rest of the sauce barrels safely stored inside her store space, Tapiwa, Tambudzai, and the kids who haven't left the estate ever since they arrived, all left for Namwapa.

The road was filled with laughter and joy. Tapiwa didn't see these people as her slaves and definitely didn't treat them like one.

If she were to do that, she would be forced to alienate herself from them. She was already lonely and didn't want to make it worse because of that.

They were her slaves, but also her family. Before they redeem themselves, these people were still part of her family and would remain like that if they couldn't afford to redeem themselves or choose not to in the future.

She was always fond of children, but it was unfortunate that such a blessing was taken away from her. And she wouldn't be that lucky in the future to hold her own child.

So, seeing Tafadzwa and her older siblings, Tapiwa was sincerely happy to be around them and see them.

Although it was a pity to watch them work so early in the morning and sleep when it was already too late, it couldn't be helped. There was so much work to be done and if it wasn't done, then no one else would do it and this would become very problematic once again.

The trip to Namwapa with Daisy, the strong and energetic cow, took less than the original two hours required, which was quite a wonder.

Along the way, they passed a few people walking on the road. Unlike the carts used for transporting people, Tapiwa's cart was for personal use and there was no way she was going to carry any person simply because they were walking.

When they arrived in town, Tapiwa took out the five bottles she had carried for that day and instructed Tambudzai and her children to wait for her under a shed while they watched both the cart and Daisy.

At the same time, the kids could take that moment to just observe others and see the world rather than be cooped up at home.

Tapiwa came to Namwapa with a target in mind. And her first target happens to be an acquaintance she had met before and someone that had helped her a lot when she was first new in the area.

And this person was Madam Matombo. She was the same woman that Tapiwa met while on her way to Guche the other time.

Although this madam didn't own a restaurant or inn, she still came from a rich household and knew a lot of madams. It was also these madams who loved showing off so much to others and, at the same time, were always busy concocting methods on how to impress either their spouses or in-laws.

They were simply so busy, and one common way of impressing people was through their stomachs. And what better way than to bless them with this delicious sauce of hers?

Madam Matombo lived in town, not in the central part of Namwapa, but in one of the best residential areas in town.

She once went to her house three years ago, so she could still clearly and vividly remember where she was supposed to go.

Because she chose to be dropped a distance closer to this residential block, Tapiwa didn't walk for too long before she reached the madam's manor.

Madam Matombo came from a wealthy family. Tapiwa didn't know what her husband did, and it wasn't any of her business, but she could tell that they weren't lacking at all.

When she arrived, she was welcomed by two guards standing at the gate which was a nuisance as these men knew how to bother her with so many questions that she had to answer before one of them left for the manor to go and pass on her message

While waiting for someone to arrive and acknowledge her, Tapiwa began to look around, mesmerized by the whole thing.

Although her land was much bigger compared to the houses in town, their lands were still much more valuable when compared to hers, and that knowledge made her heart ache a bit.

After waiting for a couple of minutes, the guard returned and passed her a very disturbing message.

"I am sorry, but you can't see the madam at the moment. She is not around, but the first madam told me to tell you that she will definitely pass on the message to her once she returns," the guard systematically said to her.

Tapiwa looked at the young guard, who looked too fishy. Something about him just didn't seem right, but even if she was curious as to what was working, was that any of her business?

As for whether Madam Matombo was in or now. Or whether something was happening to her in the house, Tapiwa already had too many issues that needed to be solved. So, she wasn't going to interfere.

Since Madam Matombo wasn't around, she was going to take it as that and move on to the next step of the plan.
