Capítulo 44: CHAPTER 44: HOME SWEET HOME

Tapiwa showed Tambudzai and her daughters the side building, which had one bedroom plus a reception room.

And since they were all female, they could happily share the room for it was enough to accommodate them.

Tambudzai's children were respectively named according to the oldest and youngest, the oldest being ten years of age and the youngest being six; Tinotenda, Tarisai, and Tafadzwa.

And in this era and world she was living in, six-year-olds were included in the workforce. In other words, Tapiwa now had four workers who would wake up every single day in the morning to do anything that she so desired.

She also showed them the latrine and outer house where they would be taking their showers. She didn't forget to show them the well, which was looking very beautiful considering how full it looked compared to the time when it was a hustle to haul water from it.

After showing them around, she then instructed the four to clean the side building before settling in.

While they were busy doing this, Tapiwa went to the main building, where she emptied the whole house in a matter of minutes.

With the whole house empty, a sly smile appeared on her face.

She took out a tub which she filled with water and when this process was done; she began to anxiously rub her hands against each other.

'You can do this!' she encouraged herself as she took deep breaths.

After calming herself, Tapiwa stretched her hands towards the tub of water with her eyes closed and began to control the water using her mind.

A will of what she wanted to be done, instructions smoothly formed in her head, and following her instincts, her hands began to do the magic.

And if her eyes were opened at this moment, Tapiwa would have seen how miraculous the sight was.

Tapiwa's main purpose of trying something she had never done before but had seen someone else doing was to clean the house very fast and to not leave any corner unclean.

The house was built by brick, which was a very good thing. However, the house was filled with so much dust that it would take days for the dust to go away.

She also wanted to sleep inside her house and for her to do that without pressuring her servants, who were still weak at the moment, was to find an alternative.

Fortunately for her, with the waves of water caressing the walls majestically without a single drop dripping on the floor, her method was working.

Tapiwa, who was feeling more confident the more she controlled the water, finally opened her eyes after a minute or so and a smile smugly appeared on her face.

With ease, Tapiwa began to clean the house, from the roof to the floor, without leaving a single room in the main building.

Although the method was taxing and draining her energy, she persevered. That was more of practice, instead of practicing the water ability by making it rise and fall from a cup or the shower, having perfect control in a situation where if she makes a slight mistake, terrible things would happen was perfect to hone her skills.

One hour later, Tapiwa was dead tired, but at the same time, the whole house was filled with a refreshing scent of water and the air smelled very nice, with no dust bothering her as it used to be before.

And since her ability was water, she made sure to drain every single water she used off the wall, which left the house perfectly dry and not moldy.

After cleaning the house, Tapiwa began with her bedroom, where she took out the new mattress, she had purchased for herself. Her old mattress was no longer usable, and it felt very hard to sleep on. It was too thin.

The new mattress came with new quilts and, looking at them, brought a beautiful smile to her face.

She furnished her bedroom with the furniture she bought and added a new desk and chair to the room that she was going to be using as a temporary office. The main house has three bedrooms and since she wasn't using all of them, it was better to find the two empty rooms for other uses.

After furnishing the office, Tapiwa used the other bedroom as a storage space and took out all the pots, grains, spices, and other things she purchased for her projects and placed them inside that room.

As for the kitchen, she added all the homeware she would be using daily that wouldn't be for the club. She also took out the food and filled the containers after that.

With that, the house was finally looking okay and the next thing that needed to be done was to check on the mother and daughters.

When she got out, she found them sitting on the small patio talking to each other. She smiled at them before summoning them over.

The side building had a small kitchen, which was very useful for separate meals. With this additional kitchen, there was no need for her to share what she ate with her servants. Which was very important.

Most of the foods she was eating lately were all foreign and couldn't be found yet. Maybe on other continents, there were there in other forms.

She didn't want to attract trouble to herself and keeping low key was for the best.

She instructed the four of them to bring several items she had purchased in Namwapa to the side house. And this included the quilts, fabrics, ready-made clothes and shoes, plus the grains and vegetables.

For the food part, she only gave them three-quarters of the portion. Tambudzai was an adult and, in this world, women, especially those from humble families, all knew how to dry their meat, vegetables, or fruits to make them stay longer.

Tambudzai felt very grateful when she received all this. Just saying thank you wasn't enough, so she was going to work hard and show her mistress just how grateful she was for everything.

Tapiwa also instructed them to clean up the kitchen as the four of them carried their belongings to the side house.

As for the kitchen, there was nothing for Tapiwa to hide and cover there. All plates had been placed inside the main building kitchen, so when they are done with the cleaning, they can be carried to the outer kitchen once more.

After giving everyone some work, Tapiwa began to fetch some water from the well and fill the empty barrels.

Tinotenda, Tambudzai's eldest daughter, joined her while her siblings were busy helping their mother.

Throughout the chore, they didn't talk, but Tapiwa's actions were enough to make the girl feel at ease.

Having more people at the estate that used to be so empty, Tapiwa finally began to feel like she was home. After all, there wasn't any place that was very sweet to be than being at home.
