The man looked apathetically towards Resel. "Since you chose to abandon your father, my hands are tied. I can forgive anything but not betrayal."
The man's eyes turned cold as he spat. "Die."
He left.
The vent was tightly shut. The gas was starting to affect Vladis and Rune. They both felt dizzy as their vision clouded.

"Now what?" Rune asked however Vladis didn't responded.
Vladis once again surveyed the room, softly knocking on the walls. Rune failed to understand his intentions, but he didn't interrupt. He too started searching for any exits but, this was a basement. Even breaking the wall would be no use since he will eat dust if he did.

Vladis shook his head. How can it be possible? We sure are missing something. If Rubin had created this room, he must have planned an exit in case of dire times. He can't possibly depend on the vent for escaping.
It was too high, even for them.
