They stared at each other. Stephan thought that it was odd that Xander came to see him. It was stranger than the fact that Jack was the best friend of Maddock.

"I didn't lie, Stephan. I am your ally and I intend to make of you only the best. Your mother didn't understand what she was going to be. She wanted to protect what wasn't worth protecting. I guess you met with those strange little creatures."

"I did. They were quite warm. I bet my mother made your wings look like that. Did you get rid of Ragya?"

"What do you think? It was an easy matter to quickly complete. I didn't want to do it but you had to make her search for what she wasn't supposed to know. At one point of our lives, we all become leaders. It was her time until the next one is born. However, you were a boy I guess. It was why another Makina didn't appear. Furthermore, it requires a ritual."
