No one can deny the authenticity of the seal that the prosecutor is holding. Even if Alfred's lawyer tries to object and deny its existence, the seal is the real deal, and seeing it react to Alfred means the letter that Elaina left behind when she left is currently in his possession.
Realizing he had no way out of this, he knelt on the ground and cried as he pleaded for Elaina's forgiveness. Even Elaina was shocked as she thought that Alfred would do more tricks and try to win the trial using this. Is this even part of his tactics to begin with? Elaina doesn't know but it doesn't hurt to be cautious about it.
"Elaina! I am sorry! I will do anything, just please forgive me!" Alfred started to cry on the witness stand and is now kneeling, trying to ask Elaina for forgiveness which caught Elaina off guard.
