Capítulo 472: That nonsense

Natasha shook her head, trying to think about something else, she was really exhausted and the day hadn't even been half over and she was already very tired.

Natasha walked to Dom's car, where Dom was already seated in his car waiting as he looked as if he was deep in thought.

Natasha walked to the passenger's seat as she opened the door and sat in front and it was not until she closed the car door that Dom snapped out of his thoughts and turned to look at her.

"Are you ready to go?" asked Dom as Natasha just nodded, she was not in the mood to talk and Dom could clearly see that.

He initially wanted to ask her if she had eaten first but he concluded that it was best he didn't, after all, she was in an awful mood, which was understandable, he just didn't want to make anything worse than it already was.

"Alright then, let's go." said Dom as he was about to start the car when he suddenly stopped, remembering something important causing Natasha to look at him and frown.

"I have to go do something, I will be right back." said Dom as he removed his seatbelt and left the car before Natasha could say a word.

Before she knew it he was already out of the car and she could see him walk to the front door and enter the house.

She scoffed and folded her hands across her chest, if he was going to end up returning to the house what was the point of rushing her to get ready as if he was going to leave her in the car.

Natasha blew out air from her mouth as she sighed, waiting, waiting, waiting.

Natasha was enraged, it have been more than ten minutes and Dom was still nowhere to be seen, she was left here, all alone, waiting for him in this heat, it wasn't that hot outside, but it seemed like all the heat was trapped inside the car and she had wind down the window, but it was still hot.

She was about to get out of the car, walk into the house and find him, shout at him for leaving her in the car for so long but that was until Dom finally walked out to the house, closing the door behind him before entering into the car.

"Where the heck where you? What did you go and do?" she asked in exasperation.

Dom turned to look at her, he could see the faint colour of red on her cheeks and forehead, he should have remembered that she was sensitive to heat, it was hot in the car, but he didn't mind he could take it, but beads of sweat had already formed on Natasha's face joined with the extremely angry expression on her face.

He scolded himself internally, he should have left the car on and switched the air conditioning on as well, it was just that he did not think that he would take so long.

"I'm sorry for keeping you waiting Natasha." said Dom apollogetically.

"Sorry my foot, you were gone for more than ten minutes, just what was so important that you had to do and leave me here to melt?" asked Natasha in sheer irritation.

"I'm sorry Natasha, really, I just remembered to feed Maggie, we can't just leave her without making sure she has enough food to eat before we get back." said Dom as Natasha scoffed.

"I can't believe that you care for that chicken." said Natasha in annoyance, to be honest she had completely forgotten about that annoying chicken that happened to be Joy's pet.

"Yes I care for her because Joy cares for her, if anything was to happen to Maggie, it would make Joy sad and I don't want that, and that's why I have to make sure that chicken is healthy." said Dom as Natasha could see the reason in his logic but she could not care less.

"Besides, she's a very good chicken, she's nice and sweet, without a care in the world, you'll see that once you get to know her." said Dom as his words caused Natasha to snicker.

"Oh please don't tell me that nonsense, just drive." she replied, she didn't really like pets, she never grew up with any of them, and quite frankly she preferred chickens on her plate instead of getting to know them.

But then again, maybe it was her sadness and tiredness that caused her to think that way when Maggie, like it or not... was a very important part of Joy's life, which made her important to Natasha as well.

Dom said nothing more as he just started the car and pulled out of the driveway, he could see that Natasha was eager for them to get going, and he didn't blame her one bit, the road ahead of them was way too long, not to even talk about the traffic that was ahead as well.

"So when we arrive there... do you want to go see Grandfather first or Joy?" asked Dom as he glanced at Natasha who was silently looking outside the window as she sighed.

"I'm just asking so we know what we need to do first to save time." said Dom.

"Grandfather told me that he wants to see us both, do you want to see him on this visit or on another visit?" asked Dom as Natasha turned to look at him.

"It's better to just deal with everything at once, when we get there, we will go see him first." said Natasha plainly as Dom was ready to agree with anything she suggested.

"Alright then..." said Dom as he sighed internally, they hadn't even made it on the highway yet and he was already tired of driving, maybe it was the silence of Natasha, or his own inner thoughts, either way, he was exhausted to say the least.

...

Ernest was sitting in his office as usual, his eyes looking outside his window, deep in thought.

You could say that he seemed to be reflecting on what had happened in his life for the past eighty years that he had been alive, the choices that he had made, and what had happened to his family that he strove so hard to make sure they had a future, to make sure that they were comfortable.

And now his first grandson and his favourite granddaughter in law were unhappy in their marriage. The marriage that he had arranged for them.

He could not help but think that maybe things would have been better for the two of them if he had let things fall naturally, if he had not pressed them to get married. He felt somewhat guilty for these poor children of his, he wanted to apologize to them, to tell them that he was sorry.

Ernest sighed, he was so deep in thought that he did not hear the knock on his office door.

"Grandfather are you alright?" came Natasha's soft worried voice as she walked into Ernest's office, she was worried when she heard no reply from him, and she knew that he was always in his office at this time, so for him not to reply, it was alarming.

"Natasha my dear is that you?" asked Ernest in surprise as he looked up only to see her face and he stood up.

"Yes it's me Grandfather are you okay? Is everything alright?" she asked in worry as Ernest said nothing but instead gave her a hug, a huge hug.

"I am so glad that you are hear my dear, I didn't know that you were coming" said Ernest as Natasha hugged him.

"I forgot to tell you that I was coming to see you, and also pick up Joy" said Natasha as Dom walked into the office as he kept silent.

"Oh you really surprised me" said Ernest as he smiled and broke their hug as Natasha smiled softly at him.

"My dear, how are you? After everything, tell me how you are?" asked Ernest as he was very worried.

"And please be honest with me, don't hide anything for me." said Ernest in concern.

"Oh Grandfather, you know that I can't lie to you, I just can't." said Natasha as she sighed.

"To be honest I feel terrible, I feel awful, I always knew that someone hated me to the extent of going as far as framing me, but for it to end up being someone I trusted... someone I loved... like Lia, it broke me, I just couldn't stop crying." said Natasha sadly.

"Oh my dear..." said Ernest as his eyes started to well with tears and he hugged Natasha, he was so sorry, so very sorry.

Both Natasha and Lia were like granddaughters to him, he loved them both equally, believe it or not; but did he treat Natasha softer? Yes of course he did? Did he favour Natasha more? Of course he did.

She was a girl left without her mother at a young age, her father worked hard to make sure that she had the best he could give her which often left her alone at home, he doted on her, he took her like his own grandchild.

She had suffered through so many painful things while she was young, she had to become stronger after an unfortunate accident led to Larry unable to use his legs, and yet she always found a way to be strong and get through the tough situations in her life.

That was why he was sure that she would get through this as well, even though it was extremely painful in the moment, but she would get through this as she always had. He knew she would.
