Capítulo 28: Ringing

"Hey, tell Jimmy that I won't be back at the station anytime soon" said Pete as he was on his phone and he opened the door to his Police car.

"Alright Commander" came the voice of a male from the other side of the line.

"If anything comes up call me" he said.

"Okay Commander" said the man as Pete cut the call.

"I feel so official" said Natasha as she got into the Police Car.

"Mhm, don't get too used to it" said Pete as he removed his black leather jacket and he threw it at the back, he wore his police badge on his neck like a necklace, it was way too hot for him to continue wearing that jacket like it was winter, he was going to melt in the summer sun.

"I wonder if I should sit it at the back, so It seems like I got arrested" said Natasha as she laughed.

"And you wonder why you are not a Police officer" said Pete as he sighed and facepalmed at Natasha's childishness.

"Can we turn on the sirens as we drive?" asked Natasha as she looked at Pete, Pete looked at her with an expression that read "If you dare do that I will actually arrest you for real"

"Sheesh, okay, okay, I won't do that" said Natasha as she laughed, she knew that he was not joking, he could actually arrest her.

"I was just joking" she said.

"Mhmm, you never know with you" said Pete as he got into the driver's seat, he turned the ignition and he started the car as they drove away.

"Commander, long time no see" said a man as he was walking with some materials, he had black hair and brown eyes.

"How is it going Clement?" asked Pete as he looked at the man.

"Things are going well" said the man named Clement.

"Is this your girlfriend?" asked Clement as he looked at Natasha, he had never seen Pete with any woman before, and not to talk less of brining her here.

"Ahh No no" said Pete as he looked at Natasha.

"This is my very good friend Natasha" said Pete as he introduced them.

"Hello Sir" said Natasha as she smiled and greeted the man.

"Oh Hello Miss, sorry for the misunderstanding" said Clement as he laughed sheepishly, he really did jump to conclusions too quickly.

"It's alright" said Natasha.

"So what brings you here commander?" asked Clement.

"Because as far as I can remember you have not been here for a long while now" said Clement.

"My friend over here wants to learn how to use a gun" said Pete.

"Ahh I see, why would a pretty lady like you need to learn how to use a gun?" asked Clement as he was surprised.

"The exact same thing I asked her" said Pete as he looked at Natasha.

"Well why do you both use guns?" asked Natasha as she threw the question back at them.

"We use them for safety purposes due to the nature of our jobs" said Pete.

"And so will I" she said

"Nat, don't you even say that" said Pete.

"Mister Clement, if this man won't teach me, will you please?" asked Natasha as she looked at Clement, she did not want to end up arguing with him.

"Ahhh no no, sorry I was going to lunch now" said Clement as he immediately rejected the offer as he saw the warning look on Pete's face that said "Do not even try"

"Anyway, I am sure the Commander will teach you" said Clement.

"You are just in luck, the shooting range is empty today" he said, as they were in an indoor shooting range.

"I will be on my way now" said Clement.

"See you commander" he said as he went his way, leaving Natasha and Pete alone in the shooting range.

"Are we going to do this or what?" asked Natasha.

"*Sigh*, You need some safety gear first" said Pete as he sighed.

"Follow me" he said as he led Natasha to a small room, he removed some items from the box and he gave them to Natasha.

"Here are safety glasses and a pair of earmuffs" he said as he gave a Natasha some clear safety glasses and a black pair of earmuffs.

"Wear the glasses" he said and she did.

Pete walked back to the shooting range and Natasha followed behind him.

"Before you even think of holding a gun" he said.

"We need to lay down some safety rules" he said.

"Alright" said Natasha.

"Rule number 1, Your Gun is always loaded, even if it's not, it is" said Pete.

"Got it" said Natasha.

"Are you sure Nat??" asked Pete, he did not want her to go accidentally shooting herself or someone else.

"Yes, rule number one your gun is always loaded even if it's not" said Natasha.

"Good" he said as he sighed.

"Rule number 2, always keep your finger off the trigger unless you want to shoot" said Pete.

"All those actions movies make shooting seems to cool, with their finger always on the trigger at all times, when in reality the trigger is very delicate and soft, and even a little finger movement could fire a shot" said Pete.

"Okay Pete" said Natasha.

"Rule number 3, you do not just point your gun anyway all willy nilly, you must only point your gun at your desired target and nothing else" he said.

"Okay" said Natasha as she nodded.

"Rule number 4, be sure of your target and what is behind it, you do not want any mess ups" said Pete.

"And those are all the rules.... for now" he said.

"Alright" said Natasha.

"Here" said Pete as he threw a pistol at Natasha, and she caught it.

"That is a glock 43, it is good for beginners" he said as he had taken it out of the store room earlier.

"I thought you said that guns should be handled carefully" said Natasha as she looked up at Pete.

"It's not loaded" said Pete.

"Anyway wear your earmuffs" he said and Natasha did as she was told.

"You need them snug" said Pete as he came to adjust Natasha's earmuffs for her, when he was satisfied with the result he put some earplugs in his ear.

"There are no people here so we can skip all the formalities, next time we will go over the shooting range rules" he said as Natasha smiled.

"Why are you smiling?" he asked.

"You said next time" she said as she smiled, she knew her Pete would never let her down.

"Don't get too ahead of yourself, it was just a slip of the tongue" he said.

"Rightt" said Natasha as she laughed, she knew that Pete hated to leave things undone, so he was going to continue teaching her till she was at her best.

"Anyway back to the shooting" said Pete.

"You need to know the basic fundamentals" he said.

"Firstly your stance needs to be just right" he said

"You should stand a shoulder width apart, with you non-dominant side foot slightly forward, and that knee should be facing the target" said Pete as Natasha stood in place as she faced the target.

"You weight needs to be slightly forward in an athletic kind of stance" he said

"And most of your weight should be on the balls of your feet and not the heels" he said as he put his hands in his pocket.

"Good" he said as Natasha already had the perfect stance.

"Now for your grip" he said

"Since you are using a handgun, grip the gun as high as you can with your dominant hand" he said and Natasha did so.

"As I said before keep your trigger finger straight alongside the slide or frame until you are ready to shoot" he said.

"Your non-dominant hand should be placed so that the edge of your index finger is in contact with the bottom on the trigger guard." he said as he walked towards Natasha and he adjusted her hand.

"And that is all for now" he said.

"Now it's time to shoot" he said as he took the gun away from Natasha and he loaded it.

"I will teach you how to load a gun later" he said as she looked at him.

"There" he said as he gave her the gun carefully.

Natasha held the gun safely keeping in mind everything Pete had said.

"Now face the target" he said as she did so.

"Stand well, hold your gun well" he said as she did so, he came and adjusted her stance.

"Are you ready?" he asked and Natasha nodded.

"Then Shoot!" he said.

At that moment Natasha moved her finger to the trigger, she pulled it back, and she did not even use force and the gun shot.

The ringing in her ears did not stop, she dropped the gun and she covered her ears, even with the earmuffs the sound of the gunshot was really loud.

Her heart began to beat fast, she felt like she was going to die, she was panicked, she could never forget the sound of a gunshot, she was shot twice before she died, and her ears rang.

"Nat, are you okay??" asked Pete as he rushed to Natasha, she had fell on the floor covering her ears.

"Nat can you hear me??" he asked as there was no response.

Pete was blaming himself right now, he should have known that the sound would be too shocking for her beginner like her.

"I'm fine, I'm fine" said Natasha as she tried to calm herself down and she shouted, her ears were still ringing.

"Are you sure??" asked Pete in worry.

"Yes Pete, don't worry, I am" she said as she sighed.

"I think that's enough shooting for today" he said as he helped Natasha off the ground.

"And don't say otherwise" he said as he looked at Natasha with warning.

"Alright" she said as the ringing in her ears were finally slowing stopping.

"Come on, let me take you home" he said

"Alright" said Natasha.
