Two weeks later.
Natasha sighed, she was fidgety, she did not know if she was making the right call here, by coming here, but she had already thought about it, and she had already taken her decision, there was no point with her hiding anything at this point, all she needed was support, a lot of it.
"Oh my dear, what a surprise, I did not know that you were coming over today" said Ernest as he smiled and he walked into his office where Natasha was waiting for him.
"Well I had the day off today Grandfather, so I came to see you" said Natasha as she smiled and she stood up as she gave Ernest a kiss on the cheek.
"You really made my day today my dear" said Ernest as he smiled, of all the things that he had expected to happen today, he did not think that Natasha would come and visit him today of all days, it was a Thursday.
"I am glad that I did Grandfather" said Natasha as she smiled and she sat back down as Ernest sat beside her.
"You look very well my dear, better than the last time I saw you" said Ernest as he smiled, Natasha was wearing plain blue jeans and a yellow top and her hair was put up in her classical ponytail, she was simple like that.
"You are glowing" said Ernest as he smiled.
"Really Grandfather?" asked Natasha as she felt her heart beat faster, was it already noticeable that she was pregnant, Ernest was not the first one to tell her that she was glowing, some of her course mates had told her that as well but then… she didn't know that pregnancy glow was a real thing, she thought it was just one of those tall tales about pregnancy, ones that were not actually real.
"Yes my dear… if I didn't know any better I would say that… oh let me not speak too much" said Ernest as he laughed, he did not want to scare Natasha off by saying that he thought she was pregnant, she was facing enough as it was already, and his idiotic grandson had refused to speak to his wife for the past three months, that really gave Ernest stress every single time that he thought about it.
"What brings you here today my dear?" asked Ernest as he smiled.
"Ah… well Grandfather I… I wanted to see you" said Natasha as she hesitated, it was now or never, and she knew herself, if she did not do it now, then she would never.
"Alright" said Ernest as he was smiling.
"Grandfather… what I am about to tell you… please promise me that you will not overreact" said Natasha as she knew that she was asking a very hard thing from Ernest, but she needed reassurance.
"I won't overreact my dear, you know that you can tell me anything" said Ernest as he smiled and Natasha felt calmer, but more stressed at the same time.
Natasha took a deep breath, she wanted to get this done and over with, Ernest just looked at her and he smiled at her gently, he would let her take her time, until she was ready to tell him whatever it was that was on her mind.
"Grandfather I…" said Natasha as she took a deep breath once more and she paused.
"Yes…" said Ernest as he smiled.
"Grandfather I… I am pregnant" said Natasha as she was nervous and she bit her lip as she watched Ernest's reaction.
The smile on Ernest's face dropped as he looked like he could not believe what he had just heard.
"Grandfather…" called Natasha as Ernest was very quiet.
"What did you say my dear?" asked Ernest as he looked like he was in disbelief.
"Grandfather I said that… I am pregnant" said Natasha as her voice came out like barely a whisper.
"Are you sure my dear?" asked Ernest.
"Yes Grandfather I am…" said Natasha as she nodded her head and she removed a paper from her back pocket as she handed it to Ernest and he opened the paper up as he read it.
"It's positive… I'm… I'm three months pregnant" said Natasha as she sighed, she still was not used to saying that she was pregnant, mostly because she still could not believe it herself, it felt like a dream, one that she wanted to wake up from, but sadly she could not, but she had already accepted her fate.
"Oh my…" said Ernest as he was overjoyed, Natasha was pregnant, he was going to have a great grandchild??? He was going to have a great grandchild; this was the happiest day of his life so far.
"Grandfather…" called Natasha.
"Oh my dear, this is great news, wonderful news" said Ernest as he laughed and he looked at Natasha as she was not smiling at all and she shook her head.
"You don't look happy dear" said Ernest as he looked at Natasha, he knew that he was being selfish and insensitive, but he could not help it, people of his age only looked forward to young ones entering the family.
"Grandfather, Dom hates me, he won't accept the child, and I know that" said Natasha as she sighed.
"Oh nonsense my dear, sheer nonsense, as long as that boy is my Grandson, he will accept the child, he is the Father after all" said Ernest as he stood up.
"Come on" said Ernest as he held Natasha hand and he helped her up.
"Let's go" said Ernest.
"Where to Grandfather?" asked Natasha.
"We are going to see that insolent grandson of mine, this nonsense of his will end today" said Ernest as he sounded angry, he was going to put an end to Dom's silliness now, he had tolerated him enough, but now his wife was pregnant and he was going to care for her, whether he liked it or not.
"Grandfather, I don't think that is a good idea, he is at the office right now" said Natasha as she shook her head.
"Hush child, it is better now than later" said Ernest as Natasha knew that she had no other choice now, she had gotten Ernest all riled up now, and he was not going to calm down until he had done what he had said.
"Grandfather, I don't want us to disturb Dom, he must be busy and that…" said Natasha.
"Nonsense utter nonsense, you are his wife, you can never disturb him, and whatever he is busy with can wait, you are carrying his child after all" said Ernest as Natasha went quiet.
"Grandfather don't…" said Natasha as she was cut off.
"Stop protecting him Natasha, he needs to take responsibility for the child whether he likes it or not" said Ernest.
"Now enough of this, let us go" said Ernest as Natasha had no other choice than to follow him.
…
"Sir, your Grandfather is here" came the voice of the Secretary on the phone.
"Send him in" said Dom as he sighed and he hanged up the phone, he really hoped that his Grandfather was not here to speak about Natasha again, because if that was the case, he really was not in the mood for his scolding, to him Natasha was dead, she was a vile woman.
"Dominic" called Ernest before he even entered Dom's office.
"Good Morning Grandfather" said Dom as Ernest walked into his office as Dom's eyes went cold as he saw who was behind him.
"What is she doing here?" asked Dom in anger as he looked at Natasha and she avoided his gaze as she looked down, she knew that it was a bad idea to come here.
"You will not speak to her in that tone Dominic, not as long as I am here" said Ernest as he rebuked Dom and Dom scoffed.
"What do you want Grandfather?" asked Dom as he sighed and he rubbed his eyes.
"Sit down dear" said Ernest as he looked at Natasha as she did as she was told.
"Grandfather I don't have all day, if you came here to disturb me, you can just go, I will see you later" said Dom.
"Dominic, you will not be disrespectful, I thought I raised you better than that" said Ernest as Dom stayed quiet.
"Dominic, your wife is pregnant" said Ernest as Natasha held her breath and she watched Dom's reaction as the angry look on his face turned into a mocking laugh as he began to clap.
"Congratulations" said Dom as he clapped and he smiled.
"Natasha you got what you wanted, well done" said Dom as he smiled and Natasha looked at Ernest she knew she should not have come here.
"Stop that nonsense Dominic" said Ernest.
"No Grandfather, I have to hand it to Natasha, she planned everything accordingly, I have to say Natasha, your plan worked out flawlessly" said Dom as he laughed.
"That child Is not mine, whatever it is that she is carrying is not mine" said Dom as the smile on his face faded and it was replaced with anger.
Natasha felt her heart breaking again as tears began to drop from her eyes, to hear Dom say those words, she knew that he would reject the child but hearing and seeing him actually do it, was a worse feeling than she had ever imagined.
"But you are the only man that I have been with" said Natasha as she cried.
"Oh I don't believe that sob saint story of yours Natasha, you are capable of anything" said Dom as he smiled.
"But I didn't drug you!" said Natasha.
"Do you seem to forget that there is video evidence of you committing the crime?" asked Dom.
"That was not me, it was not me" said Natasha as she cried.
"Bravo Natasha, your crocodile tears are not fooling anyone, except for my Grandfather of course" said Dom as he scoffed.
"Enough!" said Ernest as he shouted and Natasha cried even more, coming here was a mistake a big one.
"Grandfather, I am not going to care for a bastard, because I know that is why you are here, to tell me to assume responsibility for the child" said Dom as he scoffed.
"Dominic watch your mouth!" said Ernest as he rebuked Dom.
"Grandfather, I don't know what she told you, or why you always favour her so much, but this woman is a lair, and a manipulator, I am not caring for that child, it's not mine" said Dom as he stood up and he walked out of the office, he knew that he could not send his Grandfather out, so he would rather leave.
The door closed with a THUD as Natasha's cries filled the room as Ernest sighed and he looked at Natasha.
"It's alright dear, don't cry" said Ernest as he sighed.
"Grandfather I told you, I knew that we should not have come here" said Natasha as she cried and she buried her face in her hands, she had just gotten more insults, insults that she would have preferred to like without.
"No my dear, don't mind him, he will come to his senses soon" said Ernest as he smiled.
"I should have just gotten rid of the baby, then all this would not have happened" said Natasha as she cried and Ernest frowned.
"Natasha don't say that, do not say that, not at all" said Ernest as he shook his head, he knew that she was speaking from a place of anguish right now.
"The baby does not deserve that, not at all" said Ernest as he shook his head.
"Natasha listen to me" said Ernest as he sat down beside Natasha and he rubbed her back.
"Look at me" said Ernest as Natasha did as she was told as she cried.
"The child you are carrying will not lack anything, not at all" said Ernest.
"He or she, will be a blessing just like every other child" said Ernest.
"The child will be well taken care of" he said.
"If my idiotic grandson will not be the Father, then I will, I will accept the child as my own, because it will be, my great grandchild" said Ernest as he smiled.
"So do not worry Natasha, do not worry, because I am here, I will always be here" said Ernest as he smiled.
"Oh Grandfather" said Natasha as she cried and she hugged Ernest.
"It will be alright my child, it will be alright" said Ernest as he smiled and he hugged her.
