James jolted up in a cold sweat startled and confused, but once he saw the familiar small apartment's exposed brick walls he relaxed slightly still on guard since he still had no idea what happened the day prior. He was so certain that he had passed out after seeing that floating screen.
"That has to be the weirdest dream I've ever had"
after that utterance, James groggily jumped out of bed still trying to get his bearings straight especially since he still seemed to have a really nasty headache. He walked into the small bathroom and to the sink where he splashed some cold water on his face. The cold water seemed to have steadied his racing mind since his headache began to abate and his mind finally steadied which left James with even more questions.
He looked in the mirror above the sink to be greeted with his face but better. His face was more angular and strong his jawline looked like it could cut glass and his eyes looked like they could pierce through a grown man's soul with just a glare.
"what the hell" was all that he could utter in genuine confusion as to why his face was so perfect. He decided to investigate further by standing in front of the full-body mirror that hung behind the door to his room. He observed his body he was noticeably taller than he used to be as well as the fact that his body was tightly fitted with chiseled and compact muscles that allowed him to have the legendary swimmer's body. Though he could feel the power of his arms as he flexed his right arm allowing his muscles to pop out and for his veins to flourish.

"This is AWESOME!" completely enraptured by his new appearance he yelled out his appreciation for the heavens and his cranky neighbors to hear him.
BAM! BAM! BAM!
"SHUT THE HELL UP, KID!"
His neighbor who lived next door slammed on the shared wall of their bedrooms and yelled at the young man's enthusiasm.
James felt a little shy at his outburst but was still never the less excited at his new reality. He takes one last look at himself before getting a little annoyed despite the excellent shape he was in and the state of his body the other version of him that existed in this universe had grown out his hair to the point that it framed his face and covered his eyes like a hentai protagonist.
He let out a sigh at this before deciding to make an appointment to get his hair cut the moment he comes back from school.
"it seems like me in the marvel universe was a ghost, with no friends, no family, nothing that really connected him to anyone at all" James made the sad observation that in this reality he didn't get taken by his aunt's family but was rather forced to live by himself in an apartment in queens.
He felt bad for his counter but frankly, he knew that he lived very similarly. He lived isolated in an apartment paid for by his aunt's family he only very rarely hung out with his aunt's family and he just genuinely never felt a part of their super close and tight-knit family. If anything, being taken to a world that has come from the pages of comics into reality was the best for James.
Having enough of getting introspective James decided it was time to make his debut in Marvel. He grabs one of the many baggy hoodies from his counterpart's closet as well as some jeans and sneakers and rushes out of the door to catch his train to Midtown high home of The Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.
On the way to midtown, James tried his very best to research more about which continuity he was in. He was certain that he wasn't in the MCU considering that the fantastic 4 are around and operating out of the Baxter building. He also saw just before he lost wifi signal that red hulk and Hulk had fought recently causing major property damage in Arizona.
He now was certain that he was in a marvel world that was more like the comics than the movies which worried him a little considering the truly massive threats that are posed against the earth by many godlike cosmic entities like Galactus, Ego, or the Beyonder not to mention threats that are right on earth like the diabolic mastermind Dr. Doom or the crazed N*zi Red Skull or maybe the Kingpin of crime.
The sheer amounts of possible threats would be nerve-racking to some but James was more thrilled than scared considering the fact he knew that he would be a super-powered individual. That fact alone meant that he would be in control of his own destiny.
He smiled at the thought of actual superpowers though his smile scared the attractive blonde woman who was sitting across from him. He reeled back further asserting that by the end of the day, he wasn't going to look like some hentai protagonist.

After one very long and terribly annoying train ride, James stood at the entrance to Midtown high excited to study with peter parker and his friends; when all of a sudden he gets grabbed by his shoulder by someone.
He turns to look at the person who had just grabbed him to see his biology teacher Mr. Garvey and he is absolutely furious.
"Look kid, I know you don't have many friends but that still doesn't excuse you from holding up this trip to Oscorp; so please just get on the bus before I lose my cool"
James was surprised, he never expected that peter getting his powers would happen so soon after his transmigration. He turned on his heel and walked over to the bus the fuming biology teacher had pointed out. When he stepped on the bus some of the more popular kids got quiet before bursting into hushed laughter.
James completely ignored their petty high school nonsense as he made his way to his regular seat in the back. Once he sits down he casts a quick glance at peter parker in all his nerdy glory though frankly, the movies didn't do his nerdy self any justice. He was about 5'10 but had such bad posture he looked closer to 5'7; he wore extremely thick glasses in frames that were majorly unflattering not to mention the clothes that made him look like he belonged in a nursing home.
James was sad at the sight of his favorite hero but was giddy at the thought of being there when parker's life would change forever.
The driver pulled off to take many of the unsuspecting riders to their new lives.
AN ~ I was thinking of calling him Jamie instead of James cuz it feels a little too rigid
