Capítulo 6: Liya

Lenin is seated in his classroom, waiting for the teacher.

Suddenly, a girl speaks, "Hey, top student, have a moment?"

"C'mon, doing well in exams once doesn't make one a top student. What do you want, Liya?" Lenin replies.

Liya responds, "Someone like you excelling in exams is nothing less than a miracle, you know. Anyway, meet me after school; there's something I want to talk to you about."

"Fine."

During class, he reflects, "It's been a while, old guy. After that day, my exhaustion from those dreams was gone. Studied a bit, tried to be better. Yes, I passed the exam with good scores. You vanished without telling me a bunch of things."

The bell rings, and everyone leaves.

Lenin is about to meet Liya outside. "Liya is one of my classmates. Always poker-faced, hardly talks to anyone. We never had a conversation before. What could she..."

Lenin says, "I'm listening."

"Have you ever heard about a place named Okabi?" Liya asks.

Lenin is shocked, "What...!!!!"

"So you can see them."

"What the hell are you talking about?" he thinks, "Shit, she got me."

"Listen, there is no one else we can talk to about this except each other, for now at least," Liya explains.

Lenin contemplates, "What do I do? Should I tell her?" "No idea what you're talking about," he says.

Liya insists, "I have seen him, you know. That weird guy looks similar to you."

"You have seen him!!" Lenin exclaims.

Liya responds, "As I thought, you can see them."

Both Lenin and Liya walk together and talk.

"So, he was your grandfather. What else did he tell you?" Liya asks.

Lenin replies, "He lives in a place named Okabi, and everybody there has a longer lifespan than us."

Liya questions, "Why was he here?"

Lenin says, "He was in some kind of trouble. Wait, why are you asking all these? And how do you know about Okabi?"

"There is a book called Unseen, which has some information about it. The author of this book translated an ancient Egyptian codex to write it," Liya explains.

"You mean a super old book," Lenin asks.

Liya confirms, "Yeah. It says the world is divided into two parts, one is Dresha, and the other is Odresha. Dresha world is where we live, and Odresha world is their territory, humans with exceptionally large lifespan."

"Don't you think the author of the book may be the one we should try to talk to?" he asks.

Liya replies, "He went missing long ago. He couldn't even publish the book."

"Wait a moment, then how come you have it?" Lenin questions.

Liya reveals, "The author is my elder brother."

"You think Okabi has something to do with your brother's disappearance? What else does the book say?" Lenin asks.

She says, "Thousands of years ago, there was a great war between both of them. The aftermath of the war was both civilizations got separated. Do you know how to get there?"

"To Okabi? No," Lenin replies.

Some boys approach, and one of them mocks, "Look what we have here, Ms. paranormal. Are you hunting evil spirits now?"

Liya doesn't say a word.

"This is Sharia. An absolute jerk. Maybe loser is the right word."

"Why don't you mind your own business, Sharia?" Lenin replies annoyingly.

Sharia glares at Lenin, "Got a problem, Lenin?"

"Hey Lenin, let's get going," Liya says.

Sharia grabs Lenin's shirt, "You should listen to your abnormal girlfriend, or you may get hurt, pest."

Lenin punches him in the stomach, "She is not my girlfriend," and kicks him in the face, "and she is not abnormal either."

Liya's eyes glitter like pearls.

Lenin starts fighting with all of them. Sharia gets up, kicks Lenin in the chest, and Lenin falls. But suddenly he feels something different in him. His heart starts beating rapidly. Then he knocks out one of the guys with a single punch.

Watching this, Sharia gets a shock. Lenin charges straight toward Sharia and punches him in the face. Sharia gets knocked out, but Lenin becomes unconscious as well.

After a while, Lenin opens his eyes. He finds Liya looking at him. They are in a little shop.

Liya says, "You are awake. What happened to you? Got some disease or something?"

"Maybe. Hey, your face, what happened?" Lenin asks.

An old man intervenes, "Some boys were trying to hurt you while you were unconscious, but she protected you until I got there. Young kids these days."

"What...!!!" Lenin exclaims.

Old man reassures, "Don't worry, both of you. Now, how about some snacks?"

Both of them thank the old man and leave. "Thanks for the food, sir."

"No problem, come again anytime, hahaha," the old man smiles.

After a while, Lenin says, "Hey Liya, thanks for what you did."

"Well, you stood up for me, so we are even now," she is embarrassed a little.

Lenin asks, "So, you shared with them what you saw at some point?"

"Yeah. I used to talk about all these with my brother, but when he went missing, I couldn't just, you know. What about you? Didn't you tell anybody?" Liya inquires.

Lenin replies, "No, it is just, I didn't find all these worth talking about to someone. And it is not like those weird guys are roaming around everywhere, so."

"Yeah right. Then will you help me?" Liya asks.

"Fine. But I want you to give me that super old book," Lenin demands.

"Okay then," Liya agrees.
