"Ok, maybe not entirely impossible, but there is a chance it might not even happen." And he was overthinking this, like her, he silently mused.

Damon turned to look at the woman sitting unconsciously beside him. He noticed how she fought hard not to doze off, but the steady humming of the engine must have lulled her to sleep. 

Eventually, he found her with her eyes closed and slow, steady breathing. This time, it was her turn to succumb to exhaustion while he flew the plane as they returned home. 

"But would that be so bad?" He thought of experiencing fatherhood the second time around. 

A year ago, he would laugh at the thought of bringing a child into this world. Not that he was against it. He did not see himself as a father figure.
