Capítulo 21: Chapter Twenty-one: Eliminate Those Wretched Insects

Once the time in both realms synchronized, there was no longer a need for urgency.

Wang Hui first set up the folding sunshade, thoroughly covering the courtyard to prevent prying eyes.

As he returned to the glass enclosure, he noted the source energy in the clouds had thickened considerably.

The intense biological activity within the micro-world over the past year had yielded a bountiful supply of source energy!

"This should be the only piece of good news," he mused.

He reached out to absorb the translucent energy, feeling it surge into his body.

Current source energy: C-11% → C-20%!

Then, he became immersed in thought, transforming into a beam of light descending...

...

In the "Fourth Year of Divine Descent," on June 12th.

In the Nalan clan territory, Leader Nalan Xia leaned on her cane, her expression serious as she assigned tasks and organized defensive rotations.

Just as she had anticipated, the joint forces of the three clans four months prior had encountered an unprecedented and painful lesson!

The so-called enormous sinkhole and mass invasion were merely a ruse orchestrated by the purple-skinned creatures.

Starting with their long-term assaults on external regions, they had cunningly led the three clans to a false conclusion that "the purple-skinned creatures would not attack our territory."

Then, at the opportune moment, they lured the majority of forces toward their feigned attack points.

When the clans' rear became vulnerable, the ambush they had long planned was executed!

Although Nalan Xia had sensed the treachery and dispatched warnings to Huyan Gui and Zuo Qiu Yue on the front lines, it was too late.

When the warriors of the three clans hastily returned, they found their territory overrun by a horde of purple-skinned creatures!

Fortunately, the Zuo Qiu clan had the divine beast dragon horse valiantly holding the line, and the Huyan clan had their veteran leader, who was fused with giant ants, to provide support.

Ultimately, it was the Nalan clan that suffered the greatest losses due to their comparatively weak defenses.

The death toll exceeded five thousand!

Even more unbearable was the fact that more than half of the heavenly crystal stones accumulated by the Nalan clan over the past two years had been stolen!

What should have blossomed into a future of divine favor and prosperity had swiftly turned into a bleak darkness.

"Everyone, pull yourselves together!

This world belongs to the divine, and the calamity brought by those subterranean vermin will ultimately be washed away in their blood!

As long as we endure until the next divine descent, the Nalan clan shall surely rise again!"

Although Nalan Xia harbored no illusions of divine assistance, her clan needed a source of hope.

Whenever she uttered those words, the suffering and numb populace would rekindle a flicker of hope, enabling them to endure with gritted teeth.

Yet, beneath her seemingly steadfast demeanor, Nalan Xia felt the most uncertainty.

"This year's spring planting did not proceed smoothly. Even if we manage to stretch our remaining food until autumn, the meager new harvest may not sustain us through the winter...

I must devise another plan!"

Rubbing her weary temples, Nalan Xia was about to return to her dwelling to contemplate strategies when she inadvertently caught sight of the tumultuous clouds above.

Her expression froze momentarily, then blossomed into joy!

"...An omen in the sky? Is the divine about to descend?"

The shadows that had loomed over her heart seemed to dissipate in an instant, and Nalan Xia quickened her pace towards her residence, eager to freshen up and present herself in the best light for the deity's arrival.

However, still recovering from her injuries, she stumbled on a step, nearly losing her balance.

"Ah!"

Just as she was about to fall, a strong hand steadied her!

"Isn't it unbecoming for a clan leader to be so flustered?"

The voice that resonated in her ears felt familiar, stemming from the depths of her memory. Nalan Xia turned to face Wang Hui in astonishment.

Upon recognizing his visage, she instinctively attempted to maintain her composure, but tears streamed uncontrollably down her cheeks.

"O Divine Being! I have finally laid eyes upon you once more..."

...

In the leader's stone tower, Wang Hui resumed his position as before, listening intently as Nalan Xia recounted the events of the past two years.

Though she initially intended to kneel, she was graciously permitted to sit in the guest seat.

Surely, the divine felt pity for her injured form?

Filled with gratitude, she meticulously detailed the key events.

When she mentioned that the three clans had begun marking the years as "Divine Descent," Wang Hui felt a sense of pleasure.

Their direct alteration of the calendar to show reverence was a clever form of flattery from the little ones.

However, upon hearing of the invasions by underground monsters, his brow furrowed gradually.

Were there indeed nests of those purple-skinned creatures throughout the entirety of the micro-world?

They seemed ferocious and mindless, yet were capable of strategic deceptions that caused the three clans to suffer repeated losses...

Unless Wang Hui utilized his true form and recklessly turned the micro-world upside down, clearing out those nuisances would prove troublesome.

"O Divine Being, the heavenly crystal stones collected by the Huyan and Zuo Qiu clans should remain intact.

However, more than half of those belonging to my clan have been stolen, leaving us with fewer than fifty. Please, punish those responsible!"

Nalan Xia, leaning on her cane, attempted to kneel, but Wang Hui raised a hand, and she felt an invisible force envelop her, intertwined with shimmering starlight.

The power of the heavenly crystal stones... no, this must be the divine's essence!

Immersed in the nurturing energy, Nalan Xia felt revitalized, while Wang Hui descended to the underground chamber, naturally absorbing the heavenly crystal stones as if returning home.

Over forty stones entered his body, raising his source energy to C-24%.

When Wang Hui returned to the upper levels of the stone tower, Nalan Xia had regained her composure and was joyfully flexing her fully restored legs.

"Thank you for the divine blessings! I am but a sinner, yet..."

"Enough! That calamity is beyond the capacity of ordinary mortals to withstand; you have done exceptionally well."

Wang Hui waved his hand and inquired:

"Since leather armor fails to withstand the bites of the purple-skinned creatures, what about metal armor?

If I provide you with a substantial amount of metal that is lighter than iron yet equally resilient, can you fully equip the three clans?"

"Absolutely!"

Nalan Xia responded with renewed vitality: "Our clan has over ten thousand artisans; we will exhaust our efforts to meet your demands!"

"Excellent."

Wang Hui moved to the window, his form gradually emanating light.

"The divine's subjects should not be so feeble.

I shall bestow upon you ample food and materials for weaponry, but you must prove yourselves worthy of the divine's blessings!

Eliminate those foul insects from the depths!"

As his words lingered, Wang Hui transformed into a beam of light and soared away.

"We shall obey the divine will!"

Nalan Xia felt a fire ignite within her heart as she responded with fervor: "We will eradicate them completely!"

...

In the external world, Wang Hui, having returned to consciousness, hastened to the storage room to rummage through supplies.

The micro-world was the key to enhancing his life; he could not allow those subterranean creatures to wreak havoc.

However, directly intervening with his true form might devastatingly disrupt the ecological balance, making survival difficult for the little ones.

Moreover, Wang Hui was the sovereign of the micro-world, not their caretaker.

There was no need for him to manage every detail personally; instead, he planned to supply sufficient resources to enable the three clans to confront the subterranean invaders themselves!

During this process, biological activity would remain at a heightened level.

This would result in the generation of more source energy, serving as nourishment for Wang Hui's self-enhancement!

Surely, this approach held far greater value than foolishly reaching into a beast's den?
