In comparison to the witch Meg's commonly used [Clairvoyance], Bellmour's [True Seeing] was a far more intricate ninth-tier divination spell. According to conventional wisdom, no martial or magical technique could evade this spell; it would reveal the true essence in its most fundamental form to Bellmour's gaze. However, the "Wall of the World" was clearly an anomaly that defied logical explanation.
Even though Bellmour strained his eyes until they ached, he still could not pierce through the scenes above the clouds. At best, he caught only a glimpse of the magical currents flowing and swirling like a colossal vortex, seemingly drawn away by something higher up!
"Damn it..."
As he dispelled [True Seeing], Bellmour's countenance darkened, and he clenched his fists in frustration. In the folklore of the Gulf World, the four legendary powerhouses were revered as all-knowing and all-powerful beings. After hearing such flattery repeatedly, Bellmour inevitably became somewhat arrogant. Yet, every time he confidently ascended into the sky, attempting to unravel the clouds' concealment, his lofty pride would be swiftly shattered into fragments.
What use was vast knowledge of the mortal realm if one could not break free from the shackles of this formidable barrier? They would forever remain confined within the realm of ordinary beings!
"One day, I shall ensure that these clouds can no longer obscure my vision, and the heavens will no longer impede my footsteps…"
Bellmour's robes billowed as he silently vowed to himself.
At this moment, Wang Hui, observing the old man who stubbornly remained beneath the clouds, gradually revealed a displeased expression. Though separated by the glass dome, he could not hear Bellmour's mumbling, yet he was certain it was not anything pleasant.
"I see you have grown accustomed to a life of luxury in the Gulf World, idly wondering about the heights of the sky?"
Wang Hui glanced around and reached for a watering can beside a flowerpot along the wall.
"Very well, I shall let you taste the consequences of defying fate!"
Sliding open the top glass cover of the Gulf World, he aimed the nozzle of the watering can directly at the little old man below.
"What is that…"
Bellmour, having gleaned nothing from his exploration and preparing to depart, suddenly caught sight of a faint shadow looming above. Just as he intended to cast [True Seeing] once more, he heard a deafening roar approaching, followed by layers upon layers of torrential water cascading down from the clouds!
Although the nozzle of Wang Hui's watering can had a misting function with fine holes, each droplet that fell was comparable in size to a human being relative to the miniature world!
Try to imagine thousands of water spheres, each roughly your size, crashing down upon you—what kind of scene would that conjure?
Before today, Bellmour could not have envisioned it, but at this moment, he experienced it firsthand.
"Greater Arcane Force Field!"
He hastily waved his staff, conjuring an area brimming with magical energy above him. The enormous water spheres collided with it, producing a series of dense, resonant thuds, and the structure of the spell quickly began to show signs of impending collapse!
"Arcane Focus!"
"Greater Wizard Armor!"
"Exceptional Resistance!"
Seeing the precarious situation, Bellmour immediately cast layer upon layer of spell buffs upon himself. As the flickering lights alternated, the [Greater Arcane Force Field] crumbled, and a torrent of gigantic water droplets struck Bellmour, forcefully propelling him toward the ground!
Boom—
Like a river breaching its banks, the deluge fell upon the Thunder Kingdom below, swiftly carving a lake into the parched desert!
"Water! It's raining heavily from the sky! We have water!"
The orcs residing in the nearby village rushed out of their homes at the sound, initially stunned by the lake formed by the downpour, before erupting into cheers!
"A bunch of ignorant fools, how did you not drown?"
In mid-air, soaked to the bone, Bellmour wore an irritable expression, his wings in disarray, appearing quite disheveled. Yet, as he looked up at the sky again, an unprecedented fear glimmered in his eyes. Had he not reacted swiftly and barely managed to escape the torrent, he would have been crushed to the ground, likely meeting a gruesome fate!
The terrifying impact pressure was something that no water-based spell he knew possessed!
"This has already surpassed the limits of a ninth-tier spell… Could it be a tenth-tier spell? What manner of being resides above the heavens…"
Bellmour's eyes flickered with uncertainty. Though drenched, he was consumed by an intense desire for knowledge, stirring within him a sense of urgency!
Within his abdomen, ancient eye-like patterns began to manifest…
This was a fragment of the relic [Eternal Eye], the primary motivation that drove Bellmour to delve into arcane studies and strive for greater power, which he named [Desire for Magic]!
At this moment, his yearning to explore the skies above nearly overwhelmed his thoughts. Yet, the perilous experience of the sudden deluge compelled him to restrain his impulses with reason.
"If I am to further investigate the heavens, I must be adequately prepared and acquire a more powerful spell capable of breaching the clouds…"
Taking a deep breath, Bellmour conjured several fireballs, their flames surrounding him to dry his sodden robes. Then, he mended his tattered wings and flew back to the Storm Kingdom.
He needed to return to oversee the covert actions against the Divine Kingdom. Once he dealt with that deceptive foreign civilization and secured additional resources and manpower from the king, Bellmour's "Cloud Breaking Plan" could officially commence!
...
In the external world, Wang Hui observed the actions of the white-robed old man with keen clarity.
"To be able to escape beneath my watering can, truly, he is deserving of his title as the Chief Sorcerer of the Storm Court!"
He noted the newly formed lake within the desert of the Thunder Kingdom, surrounded by a throng of jubilant orcs cheering and celebrating, which elicited a chuckle from him.
An unintended act, yet he had inadvertently achieved his first "divine gift" within the Gulf World while tending to his plants…
"Unlike the royal autocracy of the Storm Kingdom, the orcish Thunder Kingdom is more aptly termed the Thunder United Chieftaincy, where the various tribes have no strict subordinate relationships; the king holds a status more symbolic than authoritative."
Wang Hui contemplated for a moment, deciding to promptly transform the captured Salliman into a fusion beast. With the esteemed High Priest leading the charge, he would likely gain better control over the Thunder Kingdom.
After all, he had already acquired the ability to harvest the energy of the source from the clouds; it was time to embark on the sustainable development of his "leeks."
However, what should he use to merge with the Thunder High Priest?
As Wang Hui pondered this question, back in the Gulf World, in the temporary council chamber of the orc garrison in Lushuan Town, news arrived that Lushuan Town had been captured and the garrison completely annihilated. The high-ranking orc commanders present were all stunned!
"Hahaha—"
After a moment of silence, a baboon-like orc general suddenly burst into laughter, waving his hands dismissively.
"Impossible! Absolutely impossible! Lushuan Town had a garrison of eight thousand soldiers, eight thousand! Even if they were eight thousand loaves of bread, the Storm Knights would take half a month to devour them! How could they simply vanish?!"
