"Yo, check out the new guys," Baiyi announced, using his consciousness to guide everyone's attention to the two newly arrived souls. Upon their arrival, the other Walkers' discussions and meditations were abruptly halted.
"Ugh, more of those Churchgoers. How did I know? I can smell their stench," the Lich snapped before the newcomers could introduce themselves. "Aren't God's people quick to drain their swamp!"
Upon hearing that they were from the Church, the Cleric took it upon himself to show them a bit of a hospitality. "Who are you? Don't be afraid; it's safe here."

Insignia Okay, so why does an earthling possess the ability to “tame the Void”? I always implicitly thought that our Baiyi here is just an otaku who somehow got sucked into a fantasy universe or something (see: classic isekai tropes; protagonist luck), but what is his hidden connection with this Void? …Is the Void connected to “the void of his heart”? Like, well, he spent so much of his time confined to his room and stuffs, so there’s this big “void” in his life, and that is how he got attuned to this Void energy? I mean, the other Walkers had lived full lives, haven’t they all? Even that Painter guy? And maybe that’s why Baiyi could do Memory Exchanging--he thirst for the things he had missed out in his life?
Is there gonna be a surprisingly philosophical reveal about the nature of human existence?
