25% Urban Plundering: I Corrupted The System! / Chapter 4: Stats and Systems functions

Capítulo 4: Stats and Systems functions

Parker didn't wait long as a new system screen popped up, filled with all kinds of info.

Ding! System upgraded! System override occurred. The New System has fully integrated with the Host...

New System: All-Rounder System!

Congratulations, Host, for acquiring the All-Rounder System...

System functions...

[Ding! 1. Ultimate Choice Function

This feature puts the host in critical situations where they have to pick one of three options to act on. Each option comes with rewards—some get granted right away, while others are doled out after the host completes the option you chose. It all depends on the nature of the situation that triggered the ultimate choice function.

"No worries, I can easily understand that." Another function came.

[2. 10x Rebates/Cashback.

This function gives the host 10x cashback for every penny spent. For example: if the host uses $10 of their hard-earned cash to bribe someone or buy something, the system rewards them with $100 in return. That's a 10x return!]

Parker smirked; this was exactly the number on thing he needed to turn his current financial situation and his family standing around.

If he played the system right, he could scheme his way into some serious cash—maybe even invest in stocks of a massive company. If he had enough money he could even influence the stock market of company.

He'd be rolling in dough!

All he had to do was exploit that 10x cashback function.

"System, another function." This one was also a big win for him. Even though the ultimate choice felt a lot like a mission function, it gave him another way to rake in the rewards.

Why settle for one path when he could have both? That was exactly his game plan.

[3. Missions.

The system assigns missions that come with either rewards or punishments. These missions can range from super easy to life-changing. But, the rewards are always worth it, and they fit the difficulty level—punishments too!]

Parker nodded. Sure, he had corrupted the system, but he knew there were limits.

For every mission, there would be rewards, and he wasn't naive enough to think he'd only get good stuff without facing any consequences for failing.

He was sure of one thing: the system wasn't going to control his life! If anything, it would just fuel his growth and success. He'd have taken the heat if he messed up with the real working of the system—after all, he didn't believe in free meals.

If the missions were given, there would be rewards and punishment. He didn't mess with that or it would have led to his success for corrupting the system, a complete failure.

"Good thing I took precautions earlier, or I'd be trapped as a system slave forever or losing the system although!" He took a deep breath, feeling relieved. "System, what are your other functions? The original ones you had before these three?" Parker asked eagerly.

Though he was happy with the first three, how could he refuse more from the "generous" system creator? He'd risked everything to get those three functions; if the system didn't offer him more, it'd be useless from the start.

[Ding! The system has many other functions, and the mission function is now one of the ultimate functions!] The system explained in its usual monotone.

[Since the system updated to this version, the new system mission function has been tailored to fit the host's personality and goals!] There it was, exactly what he wanted to confirm about the mission function.

"Awesome! Now show me the other functions."

[Ding! Appraisal Function!

Description: This lets the host analyze anything—objects, people, ltems —and get detailed info. It covers stats, traits, abilities, history, or value.

2. Storage Space/Inventory.

Description: This is system pocket dimension where the host can store anything, no matter the size or weight. Note: living things can't be kept in the inventory.

3. Skill and Item Shop.

Description: The host can trade system points for skills, equipment, or items!]

Before he could ask, the system answered his unspoken question.

[System points can only be earned by exchanging money!

Host's currency: $

Ding! 1 SP = $100!] Parker realized that meant he'd have to cough up $10,000 to get 100 SP. He nearly gasped but then remembered his 10x cashback. With that, he could turn a mere $10 into $10,000 in a flash!

"System, what else can I do with the system points?" Just to be sure, Parker asked.

[Ding! System points can also be used to boost your stats and increase skill level, host!] He nodded. He wasn't too bummed that he could only use his points to level up his stats, skills and buy items, especially since the latter could get him some serious items from the system shop. Literally anything...

"Anything? No, let's not get too carried away. System, show me the other functions before we get to my stats."

[Ding! Random Spin!

Description: Random Spins give the host a free spin for a chance to win items, skills, system points, cash, and prizes. Random spins can only be earned by chance—either after completing a mission (not guaranteed) or when the host hits a milestone!

"Yes, let's go!" Parker grinned. He knew exactly how to snag those random spins; he just had to get creative, even if he couldn't count on winning every time.

"Mmm—now my stats..." Parker had a sharp mind, and his cunning nature helped him stay calm, even in the wildest situations. That's how he managed to navigate the system and bend it to his will.

"As expected! Besides my IQ, my other stats are pretty low! Well, look at that! My spiritual alignment is OP. Bwahahaha! That's accurate, system—open the beginner package, kukuku." Parker knew himself well. He wasn't exactly an angel, and it only got worse when he was provoked.

Parker Black was no ordinary 17-year-old anymore.

He wasn't the type to harm others unless they pushed him to it. The only time he showed his true self was when it came to his goals and dreams—he'd do anything to achieve them. And now, he had a system at his disposal. No one could predict how far Parker Black would go to make even his wildest dreams come true.
