Sitting in the mech suit, Leon began examining the grenades. They were all different. At that moment, the second voice began speaking:
"There are ten grenades here in total. See those two blue ones?" he said, subconsciously pointing at them while glancing in their direction.
Leon nodded.
"These are for disabling pirate mechs. When they explode, they release electricity that penetrates the suit and temporarily disables its operation, effectively rendering it unpiloted."
The second paused, then continued, pointing at another set of grenades:
"And these four here are flashbang grenades. Unlike ordinary ones, I've enhanced them. If one of these explodes too close, it can cause long-term hearing loss. And I'm not talking about a few minutes — I mean several days."
Hearing this, Leon clapped his hands in appreciation.
"And finally," the second added, gesturing toward the remaining four grenades, "these are smoke grenades. Use them in case you need cover while retreating."
"By the way, Leon, I've noticed something pretty interesting," the second voice said.
Hearing this, Leon looked at the second with interest, waiting for him to continue.
Seeing that he had Leon's attention, the second continued:
"When we switch bodies, I can see not only through your eyes, and you can do the same with mine. I can see a full 360 degrees. Try it."
The second took control of the body, returning Leon to consciousness. Suddenly, Leon realized he was seeing behind him, even though his eyes were still facing forward.
"That's an incredibly useful function," Leon said thoughtfully. "Especially in combat."
"Isn't it?" the second voice replied with a grin before abruptly saying, "By the way, it's time. Let's start with me piloting the mech, and then you'll take over. We'll switch every five minutes. I'll fight first."
"Fine, no problem," Leon agreed.
After that, they stopped talking. The second began piloting, and the mech slowly lifted off the ground. Ahead, the pirates were already visible.
Barcus had advised staying back and providing support, but the second thought to himself, I'd rather handle this on my own, and smiled.
Spotting the pirate mechs, the second suddenly accelerated.
Finally, the pirates noticed the approaching Bartfort fleet, but they weren't intimidated. Experienced and confident, they believed they could handle novices.
The pirate captain focused on the rapidly approaching mech suit.
"Hm, interesting. Has he come to negotiate?" the captain muttered.
It wasn't uncommon for nobles to avoid risking their fleets by sending representatives to negotiate. These negotiations usually ended with pirates being paid to leave.
The captain assumed this time would be no different, but suddenly, the mech pulled a weapon from its back — something between an assault rifle and a rocket launcher — and began firing at the ship.
"Open fire!" the captain shouted to his crew.
But within seconds, the mech fired a rocket, striking the main cannon of the pirates' mid-sized ship.
"Damn it! Small ships, engage!" the captain commanded.
At that moment, a lone pirate mech stepped forward, blocking Leon's path. Wasting no time, Leon threw a grenade. The pirate didn't react quickly enough, and the explosion unleashed a surge of electricity, paralyzing the enemy's mech.
Leon closed the distance swiftly, grabbing the paralyzed mech by its throat. Using it as a human shield, he advanced toward the pirate flagship.
