Early in the morning, Guy gathered everyone at the training ground and made the announcement with enthusiasm.
"A good thing?" TenTen asked, her tone filled with curiosity.
"This is it!" Guy exclaimed as he dramatically waved a pair of green tights in the air.
"Oh!!" Rock Lee clenched his fists in sheer excitement.
"These tights are my personal favorite! They provide excellent ventilation and moisture-wicking properties, all while offering the perfect design for ultimate mobility. Once you put these on, you'll feel their power instantly—you'll be addicted and never want to take them off!" Guy said passionately, his eyes sparkling.
"Me! Me! Me! Please give them to me!" Rock Lee cried out with a fervent expression, dashing toward Guy with outstretched arms.
TenTen sighed, closing her eyes and turning her head as though she hadn't seen a thing.
"Kirito, wearing these tights will fill you with youthful energy, and it might even elevate your mastery of the Strong Fist to the next level!" Guy said, directing his enthusiasm toward Kirito.
Faced with Guy's eager gaze and TenTen's bewildered expression, Kirito clasped his hands and responded firmly, "No, thank you. Goodbye!"
[I don't want to look like a lunatic. Wearing those might scar me for life.]
This moment also helped Kirito realize how Rock Lee eventually became the youthful doppelgänger of Guy. After all, Lee had previously sported a middle-parted hairstyle and plain white training clothes, which felt quite different from his iconic look.
Even if others found Lee's new appearance striking, Kirito couldn't help but feel that it suited him perfectly.
"Ahem, aside from the practice clothes, I actually wanted to teach you a new technique today," Guy announced, finally shifting gears.
"Yes! Yes! Please teach me! I'm ready!" Rock Lee shouted, bouncing with excitement.
"Alright, listen carefully," Guy said, calming Lee with a firm grip on his shoulder. "What I want to teach you today is: Front Lotus."
The Front Lotus is a powerful early-stage move in the ninja arsenal. The user launches the opponent into the air, follows them mid-flight, locks them in place, and then spins downward at high speed, delivering a devastating blow to the opponent's head.
In the original timeline, Rock Lee first used this move during the Chunin Exams. It was a deadly technique that could incapacitate most adversaries if they couldn't avoid or counter it.
However, this move had a prerequisite: unlocking the first of the Eight Inner Gates, the Gate of Opening. As Guy explained the Front Lotus, he also revealed his intention to teach the team the Eight Gates Formation.
"As some of you know, to use the Front Lotus, you must first unlock the Gate of Opening. So today, I plan to teach you the Eight Inner Gates, my most treasured technique," Guy announced, his voice full of pride.

Rock Lee and TenTen's faces lit up with excitement and anticipation. The idea of learning Guy's secret technique thrilled them both.
"Alright! Seeing everyone so full of youth makes me proud!" Guy said, his voice booming with emotion. "Now, let me explain how to open the first gate: the Gate of Opening."
Guy explained that the fastest way to unlock the Eight Gates was by pushing one's body to its limits. In a state of physical extremity, the body could break its natural constraints, thereby unlocking the first gate. Once the Gate of Opening was mastered, it would pave the way to accessing the other gates through practice.
However, not everyone could handle the intense strain required to open the gates. After several days of special training and rigorous testing, only Rock Lee succeeded in opening the Gate of Opening.
TenTen struggled due to her lack of talent in this particular area. Despite reaching her physical limits, she couldn't grasp the sensation of releasing the body's restrictions.
As for Kirito, he found the idea of forcing his body to its limits unnecessary. Even without opening the gates, he managed to use the Front Lotus effectively after a few attempts. Realizing that the Eight Gates Formation wasn't worth the effort for him, Kirito decided to forgo learning it altogether.

Thus, the team members of Guy's squad each found their own paths:
Rock Lee fully embraced the Eight Gates Formation, progressing steadily. TenTen focused on perfecting her ninja tools and ninjutsu, incorporating elements of space-time techniques into her repertoire. Kirito delved deeper into combining the techniques of the Strong Fist and Gentle Fist, creating a unique combat style of his own.
Months passed, and one day, Guy called everyone to the training ground with an important question:
"Do any of you want to take the Chunin Exams this year?"
"The Chunin Exams?" Rock Lee asked, tilting his head curiously.
"Yes. Once you've completed at least eight missions, you're eligible to participate. It's been a while since newcomers took the exam. What do you think? Shall we give it a shot?"
Rock Lee hesitated, his initial excitement fading.
"What's wrong, Lee?" Guy asked.
"I'd love to test my strength, but..." Lee hesitated. "I know I'm not ready yet."
After Lee declined, Guy turned to Kirito.
"And you, Kirito?"
"I'll pass as well," Kirito replied decisively. "I'd rather wait until all three of us can take the exam together."
TenTen, surprised by Kirito's decision, asked, "Why wait? You're strong enough to pass on your own!"
"But I'd rather take the exam as a team," Kirito said with a calm smile.
Moved by her teammates' choices, TenTen also decided to hold off.
The team's decision left Guy overwhelmed with emotion. "You are all such amazing students!" he declared through tears of pride.

Meanwhile, Rock Lee advanced to mastering the Fifth Gate. After several intense sparring matches, both he and Kirito grew stronger, each perfecting their respective styles.
Seasons changed, and the time finally came for the next generation of ninja to graduate. Sitting atop the Fourth Hokage's monument, Kirito gazed at the familiar village of Konoha.

He watched silently as three young figures with blonde, black, and pink hair walked out of the village gates, accompanied by a masked Jonin with white hair.
