Capítulo 14: 10. Surprise
"Alright, I will head out to make some quick money."
After making sure that I could walk, Tsunade's hands had an itch. So she decided to try her luck and earn quick money.
By gambling.
As Tsunade left, I also headed towards the police station. Mikoto should be either patrolling or be there. And Mei is the main medic in the police office, with minimial work.
As I came out of home, I didn't really see anyone. Most of the village is flighting in the war. Even 9-10 year old kids.
Sigh...
As I exited the Uchiha clan compound, I heard some rumours.
"Danzo-sama has gotten us a peace treaty with Iwa."
Oh?
"Danzo-sama did what Kei couldn't! She abandoned the camp! My kid also died there!"
Oh.
So Danzo is taking credit for my accomplishments and slandering me huh?
And forget about Danzo. These stupid people don't seem to be from ROOT. Yet they take pleasure in trash talking me even after seeing me.
I wonder how Naruto decided to protect these people even after enduring even worse treatment for years since birth? Even after his mother and father sacrificed their lives?
I am already feeling like using Amaterasu on them.
I looked at the shopkeeper who was looking my way, and smiled at him.
"How cruel of you. While you are enjoying your life in the village, you sent your son to the battlefield. You abandoned your kid."
"You-!"
"Shut up. If I wasn't protecting the kids from going to the battlefield, your son would have died at the age of 9 instead of 13. If you want to blame anyone, blame Danzo who is conspiring with Onoki, and Third Hokage who is leisurely sitting in his throne without stepping into battlefield even once.
Hmm... Now that I think about it, weren't you guys also the one who murdered Sakumo-sama by blaming the village hero?
Your mind is as rotten as your vegetables."
Slandering him by making a commotion, making sure that his shop takes heavy loss, I left.
Danzo conspiring with Onoki rumour isn't gaining enough traction huh.
Now that I can atleast walk, I will make sure that the peace treaty that Danzo got will collapse.
I went to the Yamanaka flower shop, and bought flowers for the graves. It's been a month, and I haven't met with the families of those who got killed and the graveyard.
Neji was just born huh. Poor guy lost his father because of Danzo.
And I will also scout out Obito's grave along the way.
Before leaving the shop, I looked at Inochi's wife.
"Don't let any member of your clan enter the traitorous ROOT. It was a member of your clan that leaked the exact coordinates to Onoki."
Without waiting for any response, I left with the flowers.
The Hyuga clan compound came in my way, so I decided to first see Neji who Hizashi was bragging about.
Even though Hyugas in general are assholes, atleast they don't go into ANBU/ROOT, and are more trustworthy.
Hiashi and his wife are in battlefield, and well, I don't really like Hiashi. So I directly headed towards Hizashi's house.
The guard following behind me was obviously looking at my new legs.
"Does anyone in your clan needs them? I will make for a discount. Hizashi made the second most contributions in the Iwa front after me. I could trust him for not being involved with Danzo.
These aren't good for running or any fighting, but good enough for walking."
The guard kept his straight asshole face, and said, "I will discuss it with the clan head."
Well, he can't really do anything as a banch family member. Such a trash 'tradition'.
Hizashi's wife welcomed me in somberly.
It looks like she is still grieving. Her health doesn't look good.
"Sorry for not being able to save Hizashi."
"Don't apologize. Who could have expected Onoki would arrive and wipe out the entire camp? You weren't even the commander. Come and see Neji."
I entered the house which somehow managed to look even more traditional than Mikoto's, and looked at the baby Neji who was sleeping peacefully.
He should be 4 months old right now.
I took out some scrolls and wrote down an Earth Style jutsu which I copied for hardening skin, and took out a snake and ladder game set and handed them to her.
"Gifts for Neji. And I will ask Tsunade-sama to take a look at you. Genetic diseases are difficult to treat, but maybe she can do something."
"...Thank you."
I poked Neji's cheeks softly, and left the Hyuga clan compound.
Neji's mother probably doesn't have much time left. She is a product of marriage between close cousins, so her genetics are at a huge play in her short and weak lifespan. Hizashi fell for the sickly beauty huh.
I finally came to the Police station, intending to surprise Mei.
But my face turned pale and the basket of flowers dropped.
"MEI!"
