Capítulo 5: The Gun

"Okay, Sammy, now what. We've been on the road for three hours now and you've only given me the silent treatment." Dean complained, annoyed by Sam's as he himself said continued silence.

"Shush," Sam said as he then for the final time checked with his psychic abilities after years of training them whether there was any celestial or infernal or otherwise supernatural creature in their near vicinity.

'Okay, all clear,' Sam thought to himself.

"What we're going to do now Dean is one of the most important things we'll ever do in our lives." Sam answered as he continued to stare forward as Dean drove them with the impala towards a set of cooirdinates Sam himself gave.

"Uh, care to elaborate?" Dean questioned after a couple seconds of silence from Sam, of which Sam still gave no answer.

"Sheesh, way to be cryptic. No pressure I'm sure." Dean muttered to himself annoyed, but more determined than ever, because he very much trusts his brother and his 'giga brain' as he loves to call it.

-------------------------------------------------

"Stop right here Dean." Sam ordered of which Dean even though confused did as told.

"Okay, why in the literal living hell did you make us stop in the middle of fucking nowhere Sammy?" Dean said as he stepped out after Sam.

"All there is road and a bunch of frickin dirt." Dean stated while spreading his arms.

"That's not all there is Dean, look at where we are, and what there exactly is here." Sam said as he looked around the place as if looking for something.

"As I said earlier all there is dirt and a ro-" Dean began before he realised where exactly he is, "Wait this is a damn crossroad! The hell Sam, don't tell me we're to make a damn deal! Cause believe me if that's your plan I'm gonna be kicking your as-"

"Aha," Sam suddenly exclaimed cutting Dean off as he then crouched and marked the place with his foot. He then went towards the impala's trunk and opened it, grabbing a shovel and throwing it at Dean after which grabbing one for himself.

"Sam, you still haven't reassured me that you little brother aren't in need of an ass kicking, so before anything is done, tell me why the fuck we're here." Dean ordered sternly as he stabbed the shovel into the dirt.

Sam sighed, "Okay Dean, fine, no, we are not here for a deal. Now can you help me? This dirt isn't gonna get shoveled by itself." Sam answered annoyed, "Though, I can't for the life of me understand why you question me on everything and not father. Would be nice for once." Sam muttered under his breath as he continued to shovel and Dean finally joined him.

"Reason for that Sammy," Dean began as he stabbed the shovel into the place where Sam was also shoveling, "Is because you are the little brother so you need to be looked after."

"The hell I do Dean," Sam retorted annoyed, "Sure you raised me for a majority of my life, but come on man, I also want that level of trust for once."

"Well Sammy," Dean began again while grunting as he continued to shovel away dirt, "If whatever you've cooked up for today is awesome enough, then sure, next time, I'll do whatever you say without question unless its crazy stupid." As Dean said this he stabbed once more into the ground and this time hit something hard, a metallic cling echooing.

Sam who also heard it immediately joined Dean, shoveling exactly next to him until a big metallic box was out in the open with so many symbols it may as well been in the hundreds.

"Okay Sammy, what the fuck am I looking at?" Dean asked as Sam crouched and lifted the box out.

"This Dean," Sam began as he gently slapped the top of the box, "Is our plan B, something I trust only you to know, so not even father can know."

"Why not?" Dean asked as Sam fished into his pocket and pulled out a key with also a great amount of symbols carved into it. Dean knew that Sam did this, don't know how, but only he would be so meticulous that he'd protect these things from any and all creatures supernatural and even those who are not them.

Sam tried teaching him a lot this long time ago, he is nowhere near as good as his little brother who has a damn near perfect memory, but he can recognize a lot of them as protections against anything demon, monster and even human who isn't blood related to them from their father's side.

"Because I said so Dean." And that was Sam's favourite line when he didn't want to give an explanation and couldn't lie about it. Though knowing Sam and how many times their dad had accepted this explanation and things went better on hunts he decided he'll cut his brother some slack.

As Sam opened the metal box, he could see a whole lot of stuff perfectly organized that he didn't recognize and he knew a lot of shit because of how much Sam loved to ramble about lore and symbols and magic objects and other things, so these things have got to be rare. Though what he did recognize were apparently a gun, carved into even more symbols than the box en key together, probably numbered in the thousands.

Unknown to Dean, these symbols were carved by Sam with his psychic telekinetic powers over mulptiple years, but were carved very gently, and only as much as necessary without breaking the gun.

"Can't say I know what it is, but knowing you, it's probably very awesome."

"Oh, you've got no idea Dean," Sam said with a massive grin on his face, one he very rarely saw.

"So," Dean began as he sat on the dirt next to Sam, "Again, what am I looking at?"

"It's a gun Dean."

"I know it's a gun smartass I mean why are we in the middle of nowhere and why is this gun here?" Dean retorted with an eyeroll.

"Now stop being a jackass and give a straight answer."

"Well Dean," Sam began as he picked up the gun and some bullets and what seemed to be some oil, putting them on a iron plate also with symbols on it, "This gun Dean is our back up incase we lose the gun"

"What?" Dean exclaimed in surprise.

"Yep," Sam answered as he opened the flask with the oil in it and poured it on the gun and bullets.

"How, like, I thought that gun was only one of a kind."

"Well it is, Dean, this isn't a perfect replica, it will probably be broken after about two dozen shots, but it will do." Sam explained.

"Okay..." Dean began, "But that still doesn't explain why such a gun is here."

"Dude," Sam looked at him as if he was confused why he didn't get it, "Don't you get it, I made this."

"Well excuse me Sammy! I thought that at first too when I saw it, but it isn't every day I find out my brother can apparently make legendary weapons!" Dean yelled out in frustration.

"Okay, easy, easy," Sam said raising both his hands, with one flask still in hand.

At this Dean took a deep breath and sighed, "Now, explain, how do you even know this?"

"Research, lots and lots of research about weaknesses of every monster and creature out there and how it all could be applied to a single object. I knew it was possible to make by human hands since the original was made by a human, so I just researched.

See, I'll explain it to you, for you know the future, if you ever need it to know yourself and for some reason I can't make it. And before you say anything, no Dean, I know you'll remember all of it cause you ain't dumb, you're literally one of the smartest people I know." Sam said as Dean opened his mouth to say that very thing.

Dropping out of highschool to take care of him when he was too young to be able to properly take care of himself gave Dean some insecurities which Sam hated. One being that everyone seems to think that Sam is the smart one of the two, well, sure Sam is the smarter of the two, but Dean is by no means an idiot.

"Well, the hardest thing to do these four years was procuring the necessary materials. I actually had to go on a few hunts solo to do that and-"

"You what!?" Dean exclaimed in shock and anger.

"Dean, dude, come on, I can take care of myself." Sam said with an eyeroll at Dean's concern

"No matter how good of a hunter you are Sam, you need back up, too many hunters have died because they went in solo and when captured because of some mistake there wasn't anyone to come rescue them." Dean explained in anger.

"Oh yeah, well then, tell me, have you never went on a solo hunt yourself!?" Sam questioned, starting to get annoyed by Dean's lack of belief in him being able to take care of himself.

"No! I have in fact never done so!"

"What?" Sam questioned in shock, 'I'm sure that I remember Dean in the show once saying when he came- oh... of course, I changed things, father was way more careful with how he takes care of his sons than in canon, and no longer as desperate into taking risky hunts alone and leaving Dean by consequence into taking care of lesser hunts.'

"Yes, Sam, I'm not arrogant enough that I think I can go against literal superhumanly strong monsters that could literally be decades older than me and more fit and agile than alone!"

At this Sam winced, "Yeah, when you put it like that, it was indeed arrogant..."

Dean seeing Sam's saddened look, sighed, "Look, no one can deny that you are one hell of a hunter Sam, this isn't about me not believing in you man, it's... It's about me caring okay, I don't want you to get hurt. That was the whole reason I was against this that day..."

Sam felt very touched, he realized he had in his worry and need to become better forgotten this. Because of him knowing the dangers his projected his own sense of incapability onto Dean, thinking Dean also thought that about him.

Even though he actually is older than Dean because of his previous life, danger and this kind of life don't leave much time for self reflection upon familial relationships.

"Okay, now enough, no more chick flick moments, come on tiger, you had some thing you wanted to explain." Dean said with a smile.

As Sam saw the metaphorical olive branch, he immediately took it.

"Okay look, this gun has every symbol I could find against practically any supernatural creature I know carved by a meticulous psychic very precise with their telekinetic ability, so if the one I know isn't around you need to go ask Bobby or dad to find you one." Sam explained.

"What about the one you know?" Dean questioned.

"Mine wants to keep low profile right now and I've promised to not tell anyone who they are until I receive explicit permission, so, sorry can't tell you about them." And indeed, even though Sam is the psychic he was talking about, he did promise himself for this type of situation what he told Dean. It was thus indeed not a lie.

"After that is what I'm doing right now," Sam said as he put the gun and bullets soaked in oil into a bowl with various different things powderd.

"From my hunts I needed the fangs of every monster I wanted to be able to kill with it and crushed it into powder. As you can see I at first poured a special kind of oil onto the gun and bullets, this oil is actually blessed oil from a blessed olive tree that was in the presence of a devout believer in God who prayed to God everyday.

It was actually by far the most difficult item to find, finding a devout believer and a olive tree next to their home wasn't easy, but thankfully doable. Took me months of research. I did all this in the vacation times we got each year here at Stanford." Sam explained further as he seemed to turn the gun and bullets in the powder, trying to get stuck as much as possible onto it.

"But the final ingredient though Dean, is actually the most rare but thankfully for us was the easiest for me." Sam said with a grin as he pulled the gun and bullets out of the powder and put it into a big bowl filled with water, water that was most definitely blessed through prayers to God. Dean had for some reason he couldn't explain, which he never told his dad or brother a distinct sense when it came to things to do with God.

The moment he saw the oil and water, he knew they were blessed.

"Okay... What is this final ingredient and how does it make sense that it is the rarest yet the easiest for you to obtain?" Dean questioned.

"Well Dean, what I need is actually blood, blood of one touched by Hell and one touched by Heaven for the power of their souls within the blood." Pointing towards himself then saying, "Touched by Hell, cause you know, we may not like the implications of it and I know mother never intended it, but I was technically sold to some über powerful demon, Dean."

"Sam-"

"And you, whether you know it or not Dean, but you are touched by Heaven." Sam said cutting off Dean.

"Wait what? The Hell does that mean?"

"It means just what I said, Dean, you are for some reason blessed in the eyes of Heaven."

"Sammy, I would know if some angel or something touched me, which by the way, I only last couple years am convinced into believing in because of how much sense you made, but come on man, what about me is blessed?" Dean questioned in absolute confusion.

"Best guess, is your soul, as for why you specifically, well, if you really want to find out from someone willing to tell you, you better find yourself an angel." Because even though Sam knows, he isn't yet willing to tell him.

"Okay, and how do you know this exactly?" Dean asked in scepticism.

"Same psychic I told you about, questioned them how I would find such a thing and they could see souls and asked them once about it and they told me about my situation and that I was actually 'soaked' in the presence of one who is blessed by Heaven.

You being the one who I am before these last four years almost always in the presence of are the prime suspect." Sam explained.

"Now, come on we don't got all day, take this knife and put a drop of blood on it," Sam ordered as he did the same.

"Fine," Dean grumbled as he also pricked his thumb and let a drop of blood fall into the water in which the gun and bullets were and as he did immediately the water began to boil and light up with a bright white light.

Dean had to shield his eyes, while Sam looked straight at it with wonder and giddines and as the light finally died down, the gun and bullets were all that remained. The water steamed away into the sky, and the powder was all gone, but one could feel that they succeeded.

Sam gently brought his hand closer to the gun and when he didn't feel any particular intense sensation of heat, he picked it up and grinned at Dean, who grinned back.

He put the bullets in and cocked the gun looking Dean right in the eyes, saying,

"We've got work to do."

(Author note: Hello everyone, hope you enjoyed this chapter, I had to think about this for a little bit, but believe this theory of how the Colt was made makes sense. For the monsters, the symbols and pieces from them together working as a killer and the potent blood of two of the strongest souls for power against the demons just makes sense.

Hope you liked it, please do comment how you found it, it motivates me to continue.

Bye guys, see ya later!)
