Capítulo 8: 8 Thought I'd Lose You….
Celine's eyelashes fluttered as she opened her eyes slowly. She looked around the room and realised it was bigger, beautiful and more organised than hers. She was still wondering where she was until her eyes met with Dominic's who had just entered the room with a cup of coffee.
She furrowed her brows, asking him what happened and how she got there. Dominic cleared his throat before he replied her.
"You don't listen to me whenever I talk, Cel. And it's making you get into the more trouble."
After he finished talking, that was when Celine remembered what happened to her. Last night was hell of a day for her and it was because of this whirlwind husband of hers.
She tried to stand up but the pain down the injured leg, stung herw and she rested her head on the bed. Even the headache persisted and she felt she might break down any moment from now.
"You fainted yesterday and it took a while before you opened your eyes. After I gave you some medications, you slept off. I got worried yesterday, thought I would lose you." Dominic mentioned, his expression stoic but deep down in him, there was an ignition if concern.
"You caused everything and you should know that." Celine said, folding her arms across her chest.
Dominic nodded and placed the small tray he was holding on the bedside table before handling over the cup of coffee to Celine. "You need this now. I'll call a doctor to come check on you later."
"There's no need for that." She shook her head.
"You don't look so well, you need the attention of a doctor." He insisted.
Celine didn't reply, she sipped the coffee gently. Dominic's gaze lingered on her as she looked at him silently. There are still some things she needed to know but he was just going to tell her later.
Dominic opened his wardrobe and brought out a dashing golden bracelet with a shining pendant carved in the middle.
"What's this?" Celine asked him when he wore it around her neck.
"Anytime you're in trouble, I'll be alerted. Keep it safe, both the engagement ring and the necklace." He told her.
Celine nodded slowly but she's still had doubts in her mind. Trusting Dominic was quite difficult for her and she had a feeling that he had some hidden intentions against her.
"Why me? Why do you want me as your wife?" She asked him.
Dominic smiled faintly and patted her head. This wasn't the right time to reveal more things to her. She hasn't recovered fully and he doesn't want to complicate things.
"I'll tell you later. I'll be back, I have to pick this call." He said when his phone rang.
She nodded and he walked to the living room.
"Hello, uncle Thane."
"Dominic, you didn't show up for your date with Rosalie. Why do you always like to be deviant?" Uncle Thane was angry. Dominic had known Rosalie for years and he wondered why he hadn't developed any feelings for her yet.
"I've always told you that I don't like her. I have found my soulmate already, there's no need to set up any more dates." Dominic replied.
Uncle Thane sighed deeply before asking. "Rosalie told me already but I'm curious to know who the lady is. Is she a member of our clan?"
Dominic knew what he was about to say won't sit well with his uncle and even the other executives in the clan might not agree to it.
"It's seven days already. You have no time left. Tell me who she is?" Uncle Thane inquired further.
"She's not part of the Sabine clan, uncle, and neither is she a vampire." Dominic broke the news he knew would stir up trouble.
Thane furrowed his brows. "What nonsense are you saying, Dominic?!"
Ever since Dominic's parents died, Thane had promised to guide Dominic the right way and also help him make the right decisions, he wasn't going to agree on this.
"I've made my decision already and I'm going to change my mind."
"It might be a mismatch, Dominic. This has never happened in the history of our clan. Was there a shooting star on the day you found the lady?"
If a vampire from the Sabine clan find their soulmate when there's a shooting star then it only meant one thing; demons might be lurking around and start to manipulate things therefore the bond would only be a mismatch and not the real mate.
"There was no shooting star that day. If there was one I would've been alerted. I'm the leader of the Sabine clan and whatever decision I make is final. I'm less concerned about the executives, my opinion would stand!" Dominic mentioned firmly.
"Have you been intimate with the lady? We can just perform a ritual and the bond would be broken. You'll get another vampire mate; one that matches your personality."
Uncle Thane didn't like the situation at hand, and to avoid any problems, he would do anything just to make sure his nephew does the right thing.
"We've had sex already, and there's nothing you can do about that. I'll present her to the others at the next meeting and also appeal to the executives for the delay. Goodbye, uncle."
With that, Dominic hung up and sank into the sofa, rubbing his temples. His clan was full of stubborn elders and he was sure that they would give him a hard time.
Meanwhile at uncle Thane's, his wife- Layla walked up to him when she saw the worried expression he wore.
"What's wrong, sweetie?" She asked, placing Hera hand on his shoulder.
"Dominic is treading the wrong path and this might wreck havoc."
Layla who was a bit confused, questioned him, "Has he found his soulmate yet?"
Thane nodded. "He did; an human mate. It's against the custom of our clan but Dominic's not ready to listen."
Layla shook her head. "This is really bad. Well, a ritual can be performed then he'll get another mate, better still he can get married to Rosalie. She has been his companion for years." She suggested.
Uncle Thane chuckled. "Do you think I haven't told him that?" He paused and sat. "He just wouldn't listen and he feels he's always right."
"You're his guardian and if you convince him more, I'm sure he'll listen to you."
"I know him so well, he won't. The Clan executives won't take this matter lightly."
"Calm down, Thane. Everything would be under control." Layla assured him.

Dominic prepared breakfast for Celine and himself, and they sat at the dining area eating silently.
Celine had many things on her mind and kept thinking about her plight. Her life had taken a drastic turn just in a matter of a few days. Now she had suddenly become the wife of a Vampire lord?
"What's wrong?" Dominic asked when he saw the countenance on her face. He knew something was definitely wrong.
"Umm nothing." She shook her head and quickly changed the topic. "Why don't you have any maids?"
She wondered why a wealthy man like him won't have anyone to help with the house chores.
"Every lady just wants to seduce me and crawl their way into my life. So I prefer to do it myself and live a private life." He told her.
"You're a wealthy man, tell me who wouldn't want have you?" Celine mentioned with a shrug.
"So why are you finding it difficult to fall for me, Celine?" He looked at her with a tender smile.
Celine gulped down water and focused on her food. Why was he staring at her like that?
"You think I only want your blood, isn't it?" He made a silent chortle and shook his head. ",For the millionth time wifey, you're safe with me."
Celine didn't correct him this time around, she had accepted the fact that she married a crazy man.
"The doctor is busy and wouldn't be able to make it today." He informed her and she gave a head nod.
"Alright." She said. But deep down in her mind, she was curious. Dominic was always acting all caring and she began to wonder.
Does he really love her? Or it was just a trick to trap her down?
