Capítulo 44: Chapter Forty-four: Upholding Justice! I Have No Interest in Money

Shortly after Wang Hui and Justin departed, a throng of shipowners and sailors arrived at the warehouse, drawn by the commotion.

What they found was merely a plump man curled up on the ground, groaning in pain.

Their eyes then wandered to the large hole in the warehouse roof and the disarray of cargo strewn about below. The lead nobleman stepped forward, his expression grim, and confronted the Baron Wayne.

"Baron Wayne, do you not think you ought to explain what has transpired here?"

---

At the same time, the source of the chaos, Wang Hui, had already made his way far from the scene.

Even in this new miniature world, the strength of his projected form had not diminished significantly; it was impossible for ordinary individuals to impede his escape.

"Sigh, I still failed to remain inconspicuous…"

Wang Hui glanced back at the raucous warehouse, shaking his head in resignation.

However, upon redirecting his gaze to the female elf cradled in his arms, his expression turned serious.

At times, it was indeed necessary to be a bit more conspicuous in the name of justice!

Moments later, he arrived at a secluded stretch of coastline.

Due to the shallow waters here, unsuitable for docking vessels, the area was considerably quieter than the bustling port nearby, with only a few children frolicking and collecting seashells.

Wang Hui strolled with his hands in his pockets, observing the surroundings.

"This salty scent is reminiscent of coastal towns in the outside world, though the air here is noticeably fresher..."

Looking up, he could vaguely discern his colossal original form beyond the glass dome.

He mused, the inhabitants of the Bay World probably had yet to realize they were now under the watchful gaze of a giant!

"Excuse me..."

Hearing a soft call from behind, Wang Hui turned to the female elf trailing after him. "Are you hungry?"

Previously curled up in a cargo box, her stature was less apparent; now standing upright, it was clear she was rather tall, easily over five foot seven!

Her features were exquisitely delicate, and even in her coarse, low-quality garments, her beauty was undeniable.

Unfortunately, she appeared somewhat malnourished, her slender frame evoking a sense of pity. Her flaxen hair cascaded over her frail shoulders, giving her an almost fragile appearance.

"No, I am not hungry…"

The elf shook her head and, bending slightly, spoke softly, "I am very grateful for your rescue. I hope to repay you adequately, as long as it is within my abilities..."

As they walked, the tension within her eased, and she was able to converse smoothly with Wang Hui.

Through their dialogue, he learned her name was "Lilia," a being born on the island.

Having just reached adulthood, she participated in her clan's traditional sea festival, but ventured too far while pursuing a marine prey, only to be captured by a passing human trading vessel!

She was subsequently transported to the slave market in the Shadow Kingdom, where Justin recognized her and purchased her, intending to sell her for a high price in the Storm Kingdom's Reverse Wind Port.

Despite having evaded mistreatment due to the "fresh produce valuation principle," Lilia had come to understand the harsh realities of human society.

She believed she was destined to face a life of servitude, yet in her moment of despair, Wang Hui had rescued her, allowing her to once again breathe the liberating air of freedom!

Grateful yet curious, Lilia pondered the nature of this man who was unlike any human she had encountered; with his black hair and eyes, he seemed to belong to a unique lineage.

As the two continued their conversation, Wang Hui seized the opportunity to glean information about the Bay World.

Though Lilia was somewhat naïve, her insights provided him with an understanding of the basic conditions in the Storm Kingdom and the Shadow Kingdom.

Moreover, the island elves, it seemed, did not belong to any nation, forming a loosely organized group of island dwellers that rarely interacted with humans, having a tumultuous history marked by numerous conflicts!

Noticing Lilia's persistent inquiries about how she might repay him, Wang Hui felt a sense of exasperation.

While he was deeply intrigued by the internal structure of such a species as the elves, he certainly could not express a desire for a life-level exchange outright.

After weighing his options, he proposed, "How about I give your ears a gentle pinch as a token of my gratitude for saving you?"

"...My ears?"

Lilia paused momentarily, and her delicate, pinkish-white pointed ears twitched with a remarkable sensitivity, eliciting a stir of intrigue within Wang Hui.

It was not a peculiar fondness he harbored, but rather the evident fluctuations of primal energy emanating from her ears!

Such vibrations were quite subtle, requiring further contact for confirmation…

Typically, with Wang Hui's rational temperament, he would have adhered to his plan of low-profile conduct.

Yet, his decision to save this exquisitely delicate elf was driven by an instinctive thirst for knowledge, which could also prove advantageous for his future dominion over the Bay miniature world!

"Alright…"

Lilia's cheeks flushed as she took small, tentative steps closer.

Just as Wang Hui prepared to raise his hand, he hesitated, his expression growing stern as he glanced towards a nearby large rock.

"Come out!"

This command, laced with primal energy, seemed to send ripples through the air, causing even the waters along the shore to churn with unexpected waves!

The nearby children were frightened away, while Justin, who had been hiding behind the rock, emerged with both hands raised, signaling his lack of hostility.

"Please, do not resort to violence! It's just me!"

This slight young merchant had one side of his face significantly swollen, a result of Wang Hui's earlier slap that had knocked out two of his teeth; now, his speech was somewhat slurred.

"Have you followed me here to reclaim Lilia?"

Wang Hui's interest in pinching her ears had been interrupted, and his demeanor was far from amiable.

Lilia instinctively recoiled, casting a fearful glance at the unscrupulous merchant who had nearly sold her to a noble.

Seeing her distress, Justin hurriedly fell to his knees to explain, but his swollen mouth rendered his words nearly unintelligible, leaving his intentions unclear for quite some time.

Wang Hui frowned and waved his hand, sending a faint aura toward Justin, and to his astonishment, the swelling on the man's face quickly receded, healing his injuries, even causing his lost teeth to gradually regrow!

For one who commanded primal energy, healing the wounds of these miniature beings was merely a trivial task.

After all, the vitality and soul force of both parties were not even in the same league.

"Incredible... unbelievable..."

Justin exclaimed, utterly incredulous.

Drawing from his extensive experiences across various territories, he had never before encountered such an extraordinary ability!

The process of healing had occurred instantaneously, without the need for any incantations…

His decision to trail Wang Hui had proven to be the right one, indeed!

"Esteemed Wizard, I did not come for Lilia. To earn the favor of such a magnificent master as yourself is the best fate for her!"

Justin flattered Wang Hui with exaggerated compliments, simultaneously taking several steps forward, untying and opening the bags strapped around his waist to reveal gleaming coins within.

"These coins, along with all my possessions, I offer to you! I only ask that you take me on as a student; I wish to learn magic!"

Wang Hui raised an eyebrow at this proposal; did the lad truly mistake his utilization of primal energy for mere sorcery?

Recalling earlier, when he had observed those wizards wearing pointed hats wielding extraordinary powers, he found himself filled with curiosity and was destined to investigate further.

However…

"I have no interest in money."

Wang Hui replied nonchalantly, echoing the words of a renowned sage from the outside world!
