Capítulo 63: Chapter 62: A Date with Wang Donger

"So happy."

After Xiaoxiao's nourishment, the soy milk tasted even better.

Sweet, fragrant.

Especially when Xiaoxiao fed him with her little tongue—what a delightful experience.

It took a long time to finish breakfast, but the best part was Xiaoxiao herself.

Even in class, Xiaoxiao and Qian Ran kept making little moves, inseparable. Zhou Yi, seeing this, turned a blind eye. It was good enough that Qian Ran was even sitting in the classroom; with his level of skill, there really wasn't any need for him to attend.

She had heard from Fan Yu that the Soul Tool Department was already arranging advanced courses for Qian Ran. After the freshman assessment, he could begin studying with them.

Xian Lin'er, Qian Duoduo, and Fan Yu—the three giants of the Soul Tool Department—all had great admiration for Qian Ran.

However, even though Qian Ran was now Xian Lin'er's disciple, Yan Shaozhe still wouldn't allow him to join the Soul Tool Department.

After all, the Soul Tool Department at Shrek Academy was simply not up to par. Moreover, Xian Lin'er herself didn't intend to draw Qian Ran into the department. Despite being the dean, she didn't want Qian Ran to suffer from the department's shortcomings.

Still, learning about soul tools was essential for Qian Ran. His control over spiritual power had reached a terrifying level, so as long as he was willing to invest time in studying soul tools, he would surely achieve something.

In fact, given his mental strength, Qian Ran could easily replicate some soul tools just by looking at them once.

The soul tool was quite an interesting thing.

Its core lay in various soul arrays inside. These were complex designs composed of soul power or materials that could conduct soul power, transforming it into special effects. Using a soul tool essentially involved channeling soul power into an array, which then processed and outputted it. Soul lines were like wires, while runes were like computer programs, with soul power as the energy source. Different runes produced different effects.

So, understanding the principle of soul tools wasn't all that difficult, at least in theory.

Especially simpler soul tools, which didn't require intricate techniques; it was enough to place the right components in and ensure that the energy transmission within the array worked properly. It was similar to drawing circuit diagrams back in school—just keep the connections intact.

Qian Ran felt that soul tools below level five weren't difficult if you had some basic scientific knowledge.

Of course, replicating a soul tool was easier than innovating one.

Sophisticated soul tools required optimizing soul power utilization and ensuring that the thousands of different runes didn't interfere with each other.

Achieving that demanded extensive calculations.

This is why the Soul Tool Department's students, especially senior ones, were always recording data, experimenting, and recording again. Some soul tool researchers likely spent their entire lives on such studies.

Thus, the gap between Shrek Academy and Sun Moon Royal Academy was clear.

Sun Moon Royal Soul Engineering Academy had already accumulated ample data, which formed the basis of their teachings, allowing students to avoid the same missteps.

Shrek Academy, on the other hand, was still testing various rune combinations and characteristics of rare metals. Just collecting this data had been a headache for Shrek Academy for years.

Qian Ran's mental power was indeed strong, but converting it into computational ability was his challenge.

Building a supercomputer with his spiritual power?

Qian Ran didn't want to be a researcher, stuck in a lab all day. Unless he could spend his lab days pulling Tang Ya and Xiaoxiao in there, and then maybe lifting one of their jade legs onto the experiment table… ahem.

After morning classes ended, Wang Donger pulled Qian Ran away.

Xiaoxiao had wanted to go out with Qian Ran, but he managed to make an excuse.

Dressed as a girl, Wang Donger was truly captivating.

With her powder-blue hair and big, sparkling eyes, she naturally attracted attention.

In fact, walking down the street, she drew more eyes than Tang Ya and Xiaoxiao.

Wang Donger's beauty was breathtaking; in Qian Ran's mind, in terms of sheer face value, she easily surpassed Xiaoxiao. Other aspects would depend on personal taste.

"Hehe, so many people are looking at me," Wang Donger said, hugging Qian Ran's arm and grinning.

She was thrilled that everyone on the street could see her with Qian Ran, knowing their relationship.

The two stopped by a roadside stand for food; the street food outside Shrek Academy was genuinely delicious—Qian Ran loved it.

"Qian Ran, you're terrible."

"Who's this girl now?"

Qian Ran was something of a celebrity in the outer courtyard, so Tang Ya had heard about him and Xiaoxiao. She and Jiang Nannan happened to be shopping and were stunned by the beautiful junior student beside Qian Ran.

Jiang Nannan felt indignant on Tang Ya's behalf.

This guy was way too much of a flirt. Where did this junior even come from?

"It's fine, Nannan, no big deal," Tang Ya said, recognizing Wang Donger and recalling that overly handsome boy with Qian Ran. A look of understanding appeared in her beautiful eyes.

"No big deal? You're practically blinded by him," Jiang Nannan replied, exasperated with her best friend. She felt as though she was seeing a new side to Tang Ya. Since when was Tang Ya so forgiving, even when her guy was with another girl?

"What can I do? Qian Ran's just… like this. It's in his nature; I can't tie him down. Besides…"

Tang Ya was a little wary of Qian Ran.

So, she had long accepted she couldn't keep him to herself.

And if she loved Qian Ran, didn't that mean she had to accept everything about him?

"I think he's brainwashed you," Jiang Nannan sighed. Qian Ran was indeed quite attractive, to the point where, if not for her close bond with Tang Ya, she might even have tried dating him herself. He was outstanding, so it wouldn't be a loss to be with him, right?

"Xiao Ya, can't you see Qian Ran's just a player? He doesn't truly love you."

A familiar, annoying voice made Tang Ya frown.

Jiang Nannan also frowned, glancing uneasily at Xu Sanshi, who seemed to have changed recently, especially in the way he looked at her—with intense desire. If she'd had a sliver of hope to shake him off before, now Jiang Nannan felt that chance slipping away.

She even had a premonition that Xu Sanshi no longer intended to keep up his pretense and was planning to act directly.
