Hey! It's your favorite Watcher back at it again!
...Oh? You haven't seen my other little journal entries, you say?
...
Well never-ending that, the Great Letters probably just forgot to start posting my first story and totally didn't send me off to three different long and convoluted story lines only to delete them all...
Right?
(Letter's Note/LN: Take the L XD)
(LNN: I'm called the bafoon calls me Letter's because of my name, TLW, which no one knows or will ever know... unless you guess it ;) )
Anyway, this time I've been sent to watch over the story of a young man sent I to a universe that would usually be far out of the Watcher's reach: Arcane. Now let's not daddle and get right into the story, shall we?
P.S. I'd like to mention that this universe follows a specific theory that some of the fanatics of the Arcane series had made. Why? Cuz it seemed fun. Don't question the great Letters.
I want you to imagine the city of Gotham. It's the single most crime ridden city in all of Gotham's continuity, or at least that's it's reputation.
Anyway, I want you to add a clan heirchy to that mental image. A crime city, run by gangs, run by clans.
Now add magic in there to top it all off, and You've got Zaun.
It's not that bad of a place to live, if you can get past the sickly bog, know how to keep your head down, and what areas to avoid. All of that is what Nyx had learned in the past 17 years of his life.
Originally, as usual, he was from a run of the mill version of Earth with no magic and such, but after a very tragic and totally not arranged run in with a truck, he ended up in this world.
Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, Nyx focused back on the task at hand. Currently, he was wearing all black: Black shirt, hood, pants and he even wore a dull metallic mask over his face. Now of course he had made the mask to be somewhat sophisticated so it was a mixture of a breathing mask and something akin to what Iron man wore.
Mentally commanding the visor to zoom in on the building in front of him with the rudimentary neural link, he could see that while no one was home, the neighbors were so he'd have to be quiet.
That was because he was currently on a heist topside in Piltover. And he may or may not have permission from Vander, but it's not likely that he'd even hear about it anyway.
Checking his surroundings again, Nyx slowly and carefully made his way across a set of wires that connected the two buildings.
Sliding down to the window, he carefully opened the window before climbing in. Collapsing the top portion of the mask, Nyx switched to night vision. It was a natural thing his body could do, amoung other things, but he still couldn't figure out why- and Vander wouldn't spill.
Slinging his bag around, he started dumping any valuables into it before moving onto the real objective he came for.
This apartment was the home of a smuggler that ran around for the more richer clientele, and Nyx had paid a fine price to hear that he was smuggling a shipment of both hex crystals and a rare metal.
Finding the hidden stash in no time, Nyx found all he had come for and it seemed that this smuggler's client was a high payer because he actually found a whole 20 crystals waiting for him.
Smirking a bit crazily, Nyx made sure to keep the crystals plenty isolated from eachother as he stashed them away along with the lugage of metal.
His pack was quite heavy now, but that wouldn't hinder him.
Suddenly his ears twitched as he heard a key being slotted into the door. Slinging his bag back into it's place on his back, he made sure to secure it before sprinting to the window.
He didn't make it in time however as the door opened just on time to see him diving out of the window.
"HEY! Theif! I've been robbed!" The smuggler screamed, but Nyx had made sure that the nearest enforcer patroll was st least a block away before he entered.
Aiming towards the nearest roof, Nyx made a hand signal and a grappling hook was sent out, quickly latching on and swinging him out and ontop of it.
Looking back, all the smuggler could see was his silhouette as his mask expanded back into it's full size.
From there, Nyx didn't stop sprinting untill he reached the elevator, not even for the alarms that started blaring as he rushed through the streets.
Not stopping for the elevator to come up, he jumped directly into the shaft and began to ride the wall down with his metallic gloves, jumping from wall to wall to slow his momentum. Dodging the elevator by going outside the open air shaft, Nyx dropped the rest of the way on his grappling hook.
Landing heavily on the soot filled ground, Nyx dusted himself off before walking back home like nothing happened.
"Heh, the kid's back at it again." A man laughed.
"I told you we'd see him tonight. Now hand over the coins you bet me." Another held his hand out expectantly.
"Oh come on, you know I was joking man..."
His voice faded as Nyx walked off, the mask slowly folding to cover the back of his head.
It wasn't long before he got back home: The Last Drop, the bar owned by Vander.
Opening the door, a bunch of the clients inside glanced his way before going back to their drinks.
Looking up from the mug he was washing, Vander took in Nyx's image before immediately frowning.
"Don't tell me you went out on another heist, Nyx."
Nyx smiled. "Okay."
He didn't say anything else before sliding down into the basement were all the kids hung out, leaving Vander t shake his head.
"What am I gonna do with the kid, Toren?"
Down in the basement, Nyx went straight to his little cubby room before unloading his pack into a hidden stash he had made in his bunk.
Just as he closed it, Powder stuck her little blue head into his room.
"Wacha doin?"
Getting up, Nyx patted her head, to which she pouted. "Nothing for you to worry about right now, okay?"
She frowned. "But I wanna help out!"
Sighing, Nyx dropped down to her level. "You really wanna help out huh?"
Powder started rapidly nodding her head, making Nyx chuckel.
"Fine then, as soon as you convince Vander."
That wiped the smile off her face. "But he'll never agree to that!"
"Because he knows better, Powder. He's been running the Lanes for years now and the only reason he tolerates me 'going out' is because he knows tha I can handle myself."
Power angrily raised a finger as if to say something, before she paused and slowly put it back down. It seemed that hard logic worked wonders with her.
"As soon as Vander deems you capable enough to follow me, I'll let you. But untill then..." Nyx left his statement open ended because he didn't need to finish it, she got the point.
Powder didn't say anything, but rushed off upstairs, probably to attempt harassing Vander until he relented.
Shaking his head, Nyx laid down on his bunk before promptly falling asleep.
