Capítulo 112: I Don’t Want to Be a Heroic Spirit [112]

Since she had decided to take Sara as her disciple, Kiichi knew she had to start teaching her something.

However, Sara was still too young. Strenuous training could do more harm than good at this stage. For now, Kiichi decided to focus on teaching her strategy and tactics.

After all, as the legendary keeper of the Six Secret Teachings and Three Strategies, Kiichi was more than qualified to impart military wisdom.

To her surprise and delight, Sara displayed an extraordinary talent for strategy.

As for weapon training, Kiichi noticed that Sara had a natural affinity for archery. Although her aptitude with swords and spears was slightly weaker than with bows, it was still commendable. Yet, it was better to master a few skills than dabble in many. For now, Kiichi chose to teach Sara archery and swordsmanship—one for ranged combat and one for close quarters, complementing each other.

But before combat training could begin...

"This little thing belongs to you."

Kiichi handed Sara a Vision imbued with the power of Electro.

"This is..."

"A Vision. It's proof that you've been recognized by the gods."

Sara appeared unfamiliar with the concept of a Vision, so Kiichi did her best to explain it based on her limited experience as a Genshin Impact player.

"When a person's will and desire become strong enough, a certain blond idiot—cough, cough! A slip of the tongue!"

For once, Kiichi blushed slightly before quickly regaining her composure.

"When a person's will and desire become strong enough to gain the recognition of a god, the deity grants them their gaze. That is what we call a Vision."

"Only a rare few in this world can obtain a Vision. It acts as an external organ for manipulating elemental energy. Since your Vision is of the Electro element, you can use it to harness Electro power."

"When I saved you, this Vision suddenly appeared on you. It seems your bravery impressed the gods."

Given Sara's young age, many forms of training would have to wait. Weapon training, in particular, could be postponed. For now, it was more practical to teach her how to use elemental energy.

After all, elemental energy could enhance her physical abilities, making it easier to train her in other areas later.

Besides training Sara, Kiichi also spent her days hunting down the Rift Hounds.

Sometimes, she brought Sara along to clear the monsters; other times, she worked alone.

If the frequency of these Rift Hound appearances hadn't been visibly decreasing, Kiichi might have suspected this forest followed a game-like mechanic where monsters respawned periodically. At that point, she would've been tempted to check if Stormterror's Lair or the Golden House had weekly boss refreshes.

Teaching a disciple and hunting monsters—this routine went on for over ten days.

On this particular day, Kiichi was out hunting Rift Hounds as usual.

The sky was overcast, heavy with the threat of rain.

"Even I don't care much for rainy days... Wet feathers are such a pain," Kiichi muttered, her delicate brows furrowing.

At her feet lay the bodies of three Geo Rift Hounds, their forms not yet fully dissipated.

"These drops... In the game, weren't they used as weapon or character ascension materials?"

Holding her katana in one hand, Kiichi examined the claw she had just picked up.

"Hmm... I could probably forge these into weapons. Not that I need them, but they'd make decent graduation gifts for Sara. Speaking of which, doesn't Scáthach give each of her disciples a personally crafted cursed spear upon graduation? Should I do something similar?"

Kiichi pondered the idea, conflicted. If she forged these claws into a weapon, it would likely become a dangerous, cursed blade. Suppressing its malevolent energy would require blending it with other materials. But despite racking her brain, she couldn't think of a suitable combination.

As she was lost in thought, a strange sound came from the nearby woods.

Looking up, she spotted a humanoid creature in red, carrying a torch and wearing a peculiar mask, walking in her direction.

It was one of Teyvat's iconic creatures—a Hilichurl Torchbearer.

As players progressed through Genshin Impact's story, they learned that Hilichurls, the most commonly slain monsters, were actually cursed survivors of Khaenri'ah. This revelation stirred sympathy among many players.

But sympathy rarely stopped them from attacking Hilichurls—after all, Hilichurls attacked first.

Sure enough, as soon as the Torchbearer noticed Kiichi, it let out a string of guttural cries, brandishing its torch and charging toward her like it was performing the "Dance of the Fire God."

"..."

Kiichi paused for about two seconds.

She wasn't deliberating a profound moral dilemma—she was merely deciding how to deal with this Hilichurl.

After two seconds, she made up her mind.

"Planet Befall!"

A massive meteor descended from the sky, leaving nothing but a giant crater where the Hilichurl Torchbearer had stood moments ago.

If the Hilichurl had any final words, they'd undoubtedly have been highly offensive.

Standing at the edge of the crater, Kiichi leaned forward to inspect her handiwork. Not even a trace of the Hilichurl remained.

Well, of course. Dropping a meteor would obliterate even a Mitachurl, let alone a regular Hilichurl.

"Hmm..."

Holding her katana in one hand, Kiichi pinched her chin thoughtfully with the other.

"Just one Hilichurl... Isn't that a bit odd?"

After pondering for a moment, two pristine white wings unfurled from her back. With a gentle flap, Kiichi soared into the air.

From her vantage point in the sky, her golden eyes gleamed like those of a hawk, sharp and focused.

As the saying goes, "The higher you stand, the farther you see." From above, Kiichi quickly spotted an unusual cluster of structures northwest of her position, starkly different from the surrounding forest.

Unlike a city, the area resembled an ancient tribal settlement, complete with crude tents, wooden barricades, and ominously decorated totems.

"A Hilichurl camp, huh? Wonder if there's a treasure chest."

Given the size of the camp, there had to be a rare chest—maybe one of those 10-Primogem ones.

Of course, that assumed a certain blond wasn't out here farming first... Speaking of which, if the Traveler were in Teyvat, would she run into Lumine or Aether?

Eyes sparkling with curiosity, Kiichi flew swiftly toward the camp.

On a lookout tower within the settlement, a group of Hilichurl archers suddenly shivered, as if sensing impending doom.
