When I get back to the ship, I'm in good spirits. I see Ted and his brother on deck and I go over to them. I'm glad I was able to save my two neighbors from the disaster, since they'll now be part of the crew. Ted gives me a rundown of what happened on the ship that afternoon. The first thing was the greenhouse-type desalination plant. The first one arrived early and was tested at full capacity. It was shut down a little while ago, and we managed to get a total of 15 liters of drinking water. The ship was positioned all day as if we were sailing east, and that was the best we could get in terms of sun and with the sails open. It's not a bad amount. We'll get better numbers on dry land. The second desalination plant arrived late in the afternoon. We can increase it by a few more liters with some mirrors to direct more sun at them.
I also received the good news that the work on my room was finished and I now have an alchemy laboratory ready for use. Everything I specified, especially regarding ventilation, was done perfectly. The isolation of the cabin where the prostitutes will stay has also been completed and Omar has already secured extra medical supplies. While I talk to Ted, my father also arrives on the ship, invited by me to come and have dinner with us since this would be the last night we would see each other. Me, Ted, Zhang and my father go to Omar's cabin for dinner, at the table there is also Captain Henry and Sir Arthur.
At a table next to it are the first mate, Arthur's men, and the former slaves. It doesn't take long for our new chef to serve us a luxurious and delicious meal, worthy of his talents. While we eat, we all laugh and make small talk, when the fat man says he will be a great wizard in Asshai, everyone bursts out laughing. Captain Henry tells the story of how his old ship sank and it leaves us breathless, since it was caused by two dragon lords fighting in the slaver's bay. The conversation and stories go on for a long time, when it starts to get late Ted and the people at the other table leave, leaving only me, my father, my two friends, Captain Henry and Sir Arthur in the cabin.
Then I start to tell them about what will happen next Monday, this time I give extremely vivid details about how a volcanic eruption on such a scale works. I see my father and Henry's eyes widen. Then I talk a little about the consequences of the fall of Valyria on the colonies ruled by them, the "free cities" and the wars that will follow. When I get to the part about the Targaryens being the only survivors my father finally understands why it is safe where he is going. Soon after I start to talk about my plans for the luxury supply ship of the powerful Five Fingers. I explain to Sir Arthur that he does not need to do anything, because I know that as a knight he should not soil himself with such low acts. He nods, but still stays to understand the whole plan. Zhang's mouth is open the whole time, not believing that we're going to do something so dangerous. I reassure him that I've prepared several distractions, and even a plan B that involves the pirates who are participating in the robbery. Everyone understands my reasoning and accepts the plan. Each one will have their role that day and I need them to prepare.
At the end of the night, my father decides to sleep on the ship and I take him to my cabin. I also give him some items that I bought through Ted at the blacksmith. There's leather armor for him to protect himself, a dagger, a good sword along with a crossbow. Everything is in a not very heavy box that he will take to the ship tomorrow. I let him rest after showing him his bed. At that time, I go back out of my cabin and start looking at the mini scorpions that were installed that night while we were having dinner. I instruct one of the men to shoot all 3 towards the sea before confirming that they are working properly. The shots disappear towards the dark sea without us seeing their full power, but for me it is enough, I order them to be covered with the leather that was prepared to not only keep them hidden, but also to avoid the wear and tear of sun, rain and the sea climate. Last but not least, I go to the temporary smithy of my new blacksmith and test the prototype of the pistol I had ordered from him. The size, alignment and handle seem adequate, so I ask him to put a kind of lock on the two final versions. He has not yet made the ammunition, but I have already done the most complicated part myself and it rests in my inventory. I return to my cabin and decide to test the laboratory by making a little more gunpowder. I have no intention of doing anything else besides it at the moment, but it is good to have the laboratory ready in case I need it. When I am already in bed getting ready to go to bed I try to meditate once more, but it does not work. I then receive a message from the system saying that it can only be done once a day, I give up meditating frustrated by the limitations and finally decide to rest. While I sleep, in a cabin not far from mine, Fatty Zhang loses sleep after finishing his first successful meditation, the reason being the strange effects such a method had on his body.

On the outskirts of a mansion in a wealthy area of the east, knights and soldiers from the Defense Force and some men dressed in black cloaks and masks surround the area. They first have a heated argument over who got there first, before finally agreeing to act together in investigating the target. Although one side is a private group and the other a government force, they know that there will be consequences if they fail due to petty disagreements and internal conflict.
Lord Kristof was a well-known slave trader and popular among the nobility, what few knew was his past as an infamous thief and smuggler. Using the wealth he had obtained illegally during his many years of crime, he forged a new identity and entered the slave trade headlong a few years ago.
However, at that moment when Kristof woke up from his sleep still a little groggy, his first thought was that his past had somehow come back to haunt him. As he lay in his bed inside what he recognized as his room, he heard several noises and saw several shadows in the dimly lit room. For a moment, his instincts to always flee, engraved in his skin for many years as a thief, kicked in. He got out of bed quickly, reaching the window and jumping from the second floor. His speed, mastery and agility as he went from the bed to the window and then jumped onto the lawn, doing a perfect roll when he landed was something only seen in action movies. The fact that he was overweight only made it all the more incredible for those who witnessed the scene. It was a shame that before he could get up, he was already surrounded by a dozen men in the garden of his mansion.
"From the way he moved, he's certainly not an ordinary person." One of the masked men replied in a hoarse tone, judging by his voice he was quite old.
"Yes, and with all the stolen items we found in his house, he obviously might know something or even be the thief we've been looking for."
While Kristoff was thrown to the ground, tied up and taken for questioning by the men in black cloaks. A knight who worked in the Defense Force remained in the mansion and began to take notes of the various stolen items found. Checking and comparing the data that one of his subordinates brought to him. A veteran soldier in the Defense Force uniform whose name was Greg entered the room and said:
"Sir, I have obtained the warrant to interrogate the other slave masters who are close to Kristof, if you allow me I can do it alone, I will just take one of the new recruits with me."
"Well, I don't think they know anything, I will leave that responsibility to you, I am more interested in finding out who he was, but I am sure that the assassins in black of that dragon lord will make one of the Blood Mages find out everything faster than our own investigation… Now go, you are dismissed." Said the knight after waving his hand to his subordinate.
The loyal soldier Greg waved and said goodbye to complete his search warrant.
Not long after, it was still early morning and Greg along with the other recruit from the defense force began to use the warrant to get several slave owners out of bed and into custody for questioning. By 8:00 in the morning, the large carriage now had 8 well-dressed and fat men, in addition to Greg himself, the recruit and the coachman. At this point, Greg asked the coachman to take a break to go to the bathroom. When he got out of the carriage, he approached the coachman quickly and stuck a kind of needle in the back of the man's neck, making him fall asleep instantly. He slowly laid him down on the seat and left a bottle of liquor attached to his arm. After that, he opened a small window of the carriage and threw a smoking item inside, after closing the window and with the carriage doors already locked. Screams and banging were heard inside, but it didn't last long. When 30 seconds had passed, Greg opened the door and saw that everyone inside was passed out. He repeated the same procedure of sticking a needle in them, but now behind the ear. Only after doing all this did he remove 8 storage bags from all 8 suspects. After that, he took the carriage to a new location while the "drunk" coachman next to him slept in front of passersby. When he reached a more remote location near an old warehouse, a man appeared and said:
"Jack, you've made me work hard these past few days."
Private Greg, who was actually Jack the whole time, smiled at the man with his new face and said:
"I'm sorry old man, this is the last job and you don't need to be so careful with these 10. Leave the recruit soldier and the coachman in some random alley to be found. And take the others at least 1 day away by carriage from the Valyrian Freehold. Then use the carriage horse to return to the city, leaving them without any means of transportation. After completing the job, I recommend that you leave the city as soon as possible. Here, take this, I put some extra for you.
Jack threw a bag full of at least 50 gold coins. And the man's eyes shone with greed before thanking him and continuing with his work. Jack looked at his watch, it wasn't even 10:00 in the morning yet and he was still in the eastern district. He pulled a map from his new shadow bag and saw 3 more points marked nearby, without wasting time he quickly headed towards these locations on the map, knocking out three more men and stealing their bags. This time he didn't try to hide the bodies, leaving them there to be found. When it was around 2:00 pm he arrived at the familiar tavern already wearing a different face and his usual wooden mask ready to meet Rafael.
Chapter 2/2 of the day
This is the chapter I told you about this week. As an author, it was very difficult to write. I tried rewriting the text three times and realized how difficult it is to try to change something instead of simply deleting it and writing everything from scratch. At least I learned a valuable lesson as an author. The reason for the difficulty was the amount of words, the extra characters that appear in Jack's POV, and Jack himself. He is one of the most intelligent and cunning characters in the novel. That's why I was dissatisfied with writing something that I didn't find so intelligent after reading it, you know... But in the end it worked out and I think I managed to improve the chapter a lot, in addition to reducing the number of words and making the part that involves so many extras more cohesive. What did you think of the chapter and what is your opinion of Jack?
