Amelia's breaths came in short, uneven gasps as the weight of Enzo's presence pressed down on her. He stood over her, shirtless, his sculpted chest glistening faintly in the dim light. His intense gaze pinned her in place, and she felt like a moth trapped in the glow of a flame.

"Why were you eavesdropping?" he asked, his voice cutting through the silence like a blade.

Amelia blinked, her mind racing. "Eavesdropping?" she stammered, her confusion apparent.

Enzo's smirk grew darker as he took a slow step closer, closing the already suffocating gap between them. "Don't play dumb, Amelia," he said, his voice low and smooth. "I know you were outside my room at the old house."

Her heart stopped for a moment. She felt the heat rise to her cheeks as the memory flooded back—she hadn't meant to linger outside his door, but the sounds she had heard had rooted her to the spot.
