Leone sat in the conference room, his mind swirling with thoughts that he couldn't shake. The meeting was in full swing, but his attention wavered, drifting back to the image of Evelina and Alessio from earlier that morning. They'd looked so comfortable together, as though they had known eachother for a long time.

'Does she know him?'

Leone caught himself, his thoughts freezing in their tracks. Wait, why am I even thinking of this? He clenched his jaw, forcing himself to focus on the board members in front of him. But it was like a stubborn itch that wouldn't be scratched—why was he so bothered by the sight of them together?

Leone clenched his fists under the table. He couldn't understand why seeing Evelina with Alessio unsettled him so much. She wasn't his to control, but the thought of her with anyone else made something dark flare inside him. It wasn't jealousy, not exactly… but it was something close.
