In the blink of an eye, it was the last day of December.
A lot had happened during this time. Luxurious caravans arrived in Dongwu City, one after another. Some came through teleportation arrays, some by magical beasts, while others arrived via ordinary caravans or even steel spaceships.
The inner city of Dongwu had been unusually lively. The Apocalypse Legion, which had originally rotated two-thousand-person shifts for guarding the inner city, had recently switched to two shifts of five thousand each, in order to strengthen city management.
The Federation had its laws, and cities had their decrees. With more powerful extraordinary individuals entering the city, conflicts were inevitable. Yet, these powerful beings respected the old city lord's authority and avoided causing trouble. After all, his strength was universally acknowledged.
Still, not all violations could be avoided.
Mossen, however, showed no such respect for power. He enforced the law strictly, whether the offender was a member of a powerful family or a renowned extraordinary person. Anyone who caused trouble in Dongwu City was sent straight to prison. If they had no one to bail them out, they would either be executed or sent off to work in the wastelands.
By making an example of a few, peace was finally restored to Dongwu City.

**Dawn Pharmacy, Laboratory.**
Beep. Beep.
The mechanical prompts echoed through the chaos of the laboratory. Around 30% of the instruments were destroyed, while 70% of the space had been damaged to varying degrees. Various materials were scattered across the floor. Some potions and special alchemical liquids had spilled, making the lab look more like a battlefield than a place of scientific discovery.
Bai Yi, who had been unconscious for three days, slowly opened his eyes. Blood covered him, and his face was as pale as death. He stared dazedly at the ceiling, a flash of scarlet flickering in his eyes.
After a long moment, it seemed as though his memory returned to him. Four days ago, Sabo had found most of the materials Bai Yi needed. They included the best and alternative materials, all of which were of high quality.
At that time, Bai Yi had already maxed out his proficiency in the dark-side transformation and had completed orders for the wealthy businessmen. He had been replenishing the pharmacy's stock and preparing to upgrade the guard systems when Sabo had arrived with the materials and a returned Dawn Badge.
Bai Yi had checked the Dawn Badge and found there were still 40,000 contribution points left. Without hesitation, he began to focus on his dark side transformation. Sabo's offer meant that it would be impossible to find all the materials in the short term, so he decided to proceed.
Some of the materials Sabo brought were of gold grade, such as the *Lustful Tentacles* from a level 58 Lust Demon.

Bai Yi's eyes flashed scarlet once again as he focused his consciousness inward. Around his heart, a drop of dark blood struggled to reach its intended destination, but it was blocked by the flow of his blood.
He could feel the drop's anger and reluctance as it pushed against his inner barriers. Rubbing his brows, Bai Yi sat up, his body unsteady. The materials Sabo had provided were far too advanced for him at the moment. His soul power and alchemical expertise weren't yet sufficient to handle them.
He staggered to his feet, pulling out a soul crystal core from the medicine box. He hesitated for a moment, considering that the crystal would be more valuable if made into medicine, but time was pressing. The influence of the dark side was growing stronger, and if he didn't act quickly, he might not be able to craft a potion that surpassed his current level.
Finally, he bit down on the fist-sized crystal like it was an apple. The *Soul Gourmet* specialty triggered, and the point where his teeth sank into the crystal began to release blue shards of light. A feeling of extreme pleasure washed over him, and Bai Yi paused for a moment to savor it. A message flashed across his panel:
**"You have consumed a Soul Crystal Core. Mental Strength +18."**
His mind cleared instantly, and the subjugation of his soul allowed him to suppress the dark side's influence.
Afterward, he drank a bottle of energy potion to replenish his physical strength, followed by a mental recovery potion.
His phone rang. It was Erin.
"Boss, you're finally awake. A powerful alchemist just came by. He bought all our potions and insisted on meeting with you alone. He's waiting in the reception room."
Relief was palpable in Erin's voice as she gave him the update.
Bai Yi blinked in surprise. He turned to find a Dawn Badge resting on the box where he kept his gold coins. Picking it up, he saw it contained exactly 80,000 contribution points, the exact price of the potions he had recently replenished.
"I understand. I'll be out in a moment."
He finished the soul crystal core in a few more bites, feeling his mental attributes soar. With forty extra points in mental strength, his clarity and control had significantly improved.
Bai Yi then called on his thirty worker bees, which had been replenished. Twenty-eight of them started tidying up the lab, while the remaining two sprayed water vapor to clean off the blood and stains from his body.
As the worker bees worked, Bai Yi checked his progress. His mental power had dramatically increased. The influence of the dark side on his body was now manageable. He focused his remaining attribute points into his spirit, ensuring complete control over his body and soul.
His panel had been updated, and now it looked more impressive than ever.
