Capítulo 86: Chapter 86: Task Refresh

The Spark Store points had now reached 4,200, enough to exchange for a new T4 starship. However, Feng Mo wasn't in a rush; he planned to wait until the tasks refreshed tomorrow and choose a starship that best suited the upcoming mission type.

Once the battlefield cleanup was complete, Feng Mo, Ai Er, and Hua Qin returned to the Hurricane, and the Storm Fleet began its journey home.

They had left with a hundred starships and were now returning with over three hundred, including twenty T3 transport ships loaded with valuable resources—a significant haul.

During the journey back, Feng Mo entered the Star Network. This time, he didn't visit his small base but headed straight to the main star of the Snowhawk Empire, to the Ma Manor.

General Gu Jun was waiting at the entrance and greeted Feng Mo as he approached. "The old man inside is difficult to deal with," Gu Jun advised, "but remember, don't give in. I'm here to ensure that what's yours won't be taken away."

Feng Mo nodded, signaling his understanding, and followed Gu Jun into the manor. As they walked through the mansion, Feng Mo admired the traditional architecture, complete with pavilions and gardens brimming with poetic charm.

After a short walk down the corridors, they arrived at a small room where Gu Jun motioned for Feng Mo to wait while he knocked three times on the door.

"Come in," called an aged voice from within. Gu Jun cleared his throat, feeling slightly embarrassed, and led Feng Mo into the room.

"Little Mo, let me introduce you. This is Elder Ma, my former superior, a man your father held in great respect," Gu Jun said.

Before this meeting, Gu Jun had sent Feng Mo a dossier about the silver-haired elder, who was now a member of the Federal Parliament, a Duke of the Snowhawk Empire, and one of its most respected statesmen.

Inside, they found Elder Ma seated at a tea table. He nodded to them, inviting them to sit, and remarked, "You two have done well, so I won't be stingy. Earl Feng Mo, tell me, what would you like in return for your service?"

Elder Ma poured each of them tea and regarded Feng Mo with curious, aged eyes.

Feng Mo chuckled, "I wouldn't dare to claim credit. After all, you represent the Federation and Snowhawk Empire. But if you insist, perhaps I'll say what's on my mind. I'd love a T5 starship. Could the Federation arrange that?"

Elder Ma's brows shot up in surprise, clearly taken aback by Feng Mo's audacious request. After an awkward cough, he said, "A T5 starship is out of the question, so let's set that aside. What I can offer is a significant supply of dark matter resources and dark energy crystals. How does half a T3 transport ship's worth sound?"

After a brief pause to consider, Feng Mo replied, "Elder Ma, as Gu Jun's leader and mentor, I respect you. But to be frank, it's insufficient. If that's your final offer, then I'll have no choice but to turn the Storm Fleet around and strip the Bai Family's main star bare. I trust you won't doubt the Storm Fleet's capability?"

Feng Mo's tone was unyielding, with no room for negotiation. Elder Ma frowned, displeased by Feng Mo's audacity, and asked, "Do you think the Snowhawk Empire is a place where you can come and go as you please?"

"Oh, absolutely," Feng Mo replied without hesitation. "Does three T5 fleets from the Yunshan Empire sound like enough? If not, we have the Yue Family of the Tianqi Empire and the Chu Family of the Radiant Empire. Shall we proceed with this conversation?"

Feng Mo's unyielding stance put Elder Ma in a difficult position. He wasn't accustomed to being outmaneuvered, especially not by someone so young.

Seeing that both men were at an impasse, Gu Jun interjected diplomatically, "Let's find a middle ground. Feng Mo, take a step back, and Elder Ma, perhaps you could offer a bit more. How about two T3 transport ships: one filled with dark matter resources and the other with dark energy crystals?"

Feigning reluctance, Feng Mo eventually nodded after some gentle persuasion from Gu Jun. Elder Ma, equally reluctant, agreed as well.

With the matter settled, the three men lightened the mood, with Feng Mo and Gu Jun taking turns praising Elder Ma as the steadfast pillar of the Snowhawk Empire and a towering figure of the Federation. Elder Ma, flattered, chuckled in satisfaction.

After the meeting concluded, Feng Mo exited the Star Network. The Storm Fleet triumphantly returned, with over three hundred starships docking at the Storm Starport.

An hour later, Feng Mo assembled all the officers of captain rank or higher at the base office. Having already devised a distribution plan on the return trip, he got right to the point.

"All three T4 starships will be assigned to the Explorer Fleet, which will now focus on system exploration and escort missions," Feng Mo announced. "The remaining T3 and T2 starships will go to the Elven Fleet, which will be responsible for patrolling and guarding our star systems. The Storm Fleet, meanwhile, will pursue a more elite specialization."

"As for the resources, Baishu Star and the Elven Main Star will each receive ten percent, with the remainder going to Hua Qin for centralized distribution. Departments needing resources should report to her."

With that, he looked around and asked, "Any questions? If so, you can speak privately with Hua Qin. Alright, dismissed. Alisa, please stay behind."

After everyone else left, Feng Mo turned his attention to Alisa, who had been standing quietly in the corner, munching on snacks as usual. She wore her trademark pout as she searched her pockets, discovering her snacks were all gone.

"If there's nothing else, Commander, I'd like to head back. I'm out of snacks," Alisa said with a pout, even turning her pockets inside out to prove her point.

Feng Mo's eyebrow twitched slightly, as did Ai Er and Hua Qin's, as they watched her with amusement.

"Alisa, I'll send you the design plans for a T4 interstellar frigate shortly. Look them over and see if you need to make any modifications," Feng Mo said.

"Alright, Commander, but may I make a request?" Alisa replied with a hopeful look.

"Reasonable requests are acceptable. Let's hear it," Feng Mo replied.

"Well, our current shipyard and T3 Copper Hammer-class ships aren't enough for mass-producing T4 starships. Perhaps we should consider expanding the shipyard or designing a T4 industrial starship?" Alisa suggested.
