I nodded off, then woke up, before again drifting to sleep. The drive was long, so it happened a few times, but every time I opened my eyes instinctively only for darkness to again welcome me, I heard a deep,
"I'm here," assuring me. There was no music or radio, but the sound the driving car made, and the breathing companion beside me.
I didn't ask about that smell of gasoline on my companion; not a problem I had to face, only a visitor, only here temporarily. I also didn't ask for our destination, just continuing to sleep, then waking up again.
Hearing the blinker, I knew we turned in somewhere, feeling the car slowing down, I thought we arrived.
"Wait here, I will get you something to eat." A warm hand patted my head.
Hearing that, my stomach growled timely, earning a chuckle, and after promising not to not step out of the car again, I was left alone once more.
