The drive was silent; neither did I torment Adam, who breathed a sight of relief when he saw me taking a seat away from him, nor did Amanda torment me.
Even if I had gotten myself earphones, I had only an old ringtone on my folding phone, and I wasn't even sure if I could connect them to it. So, silence for me. Closing my eyes, I waited for the ride to pass.
