There was no need to search; as long as there was a casino nearby, Tsunade's presence would quickly draw everyone's attention. After all, Tsunade was well-known in most casinos, and they even had a rule: when Tsunade was gambling, others either had to bet on the same option as her or abstain. This was the privilege of a casino VIP!
The three young ninjas quickly gathered around Tsunade.
"Teacher."
They didn't stop Tsunade from gambling; instead, they stood by her quietly.
"What are you doing here…" Tsunade muttered, placing a bet. "If I bet on small, it can't keep coming up big, can it? I refuse to believe it'll happen 21 times in a row!"
With that, she placed her money on "small" with a determined expression. Her luck, as usual, was astonishingly bad. With the simplest dice game, which only had two choices—big and small—Tsunade had managed to lose 21 times in a row. And this was without any interference from the casino.
"Alright, let's open!"
"Three sixes… 15 points. Big!"
"Sorry, that's 22 times in a row it's come up big. Would you like to change your bet?" the dealer asked with a polite smile as he collected Tsunade's money. In just over an hour, she'd lost more than 400 million ryo. The dealer's share of that sum alone was substantial.
"No change! Another 5 million on small!" Tsunade declared, throwing down a wad of money with an unyielding expression. She refused to believe her luck would betray her yet again.
"Very well."
The dealer picked up the dice cup and began to shake it.
*Clatter!*
He placed the cup on the table, and Reiki raised his hand slightly.
"Four, five, six…"
Reiki looked on, slightly embarrassed by his teacher's luck. It was… remarkable.
"Room—Control!"
Reiki subtly moved his index finger.
"Open!"
"One, two, three… Six points!"
"Small!"
The dealer stared at the dice in disbelief. Even though he hadn't rigged the game, as an experienced dealer, he'd sensed it was going to be big. How had it landed on small?
"See? I told you, I knew I couldn't lose forever!" Tsunade cheered, ecstatic at her win. "Fifty million!"
As a VIP, she enjoyed a special privilege: a tenfold payout on her bets. The casino owners were confident enough in Tsunade's luck to offer her such odds. After all, her record over the years had justified it.
"Congratulations, Tsunade-sama. Here's your fifty million," the dealer said, though he remained slightly bewildered. "Would you like to keep betting?"
Though the dealer was surprised by her win, he didn't mind too much. After all, she'd lost over 400 million before this, and winning back 50 million was no major blow to the house.
"While I'm on a roll, I'll bet it all on small again!" Tsunade grinned, pushing the stack of winnings back to the betting area.
"Only Tsunade-sama could bet like this. She really is the God of War of the casino," one of the onlookers commented, amazed by her confidence.
"This is intense! I'm just here for the excitement!"
"If she wins this, the dealer's in trouble."
The spectators murmured, clearly entertained. The dealer, on the other hand, was sweating. If he lost this round, the casino would be down over 100 million ryo. His nerves were starting to show.
"Alright, let's go," he muttered, trying to keep his composure as he picked up the dice cup and shook it with careful rhythm. But inside, he was feeling the pressure.
"Five, six, six…" Reiki saw through the dealer's intentions and smiled slightly.
With him here, the dealer could forget about any tricks. He gently adjusted the dice once more.
"One, two, three… Six points."
The dealer's expression froze as he opened the dice cup. He had been sure it would land on big, but…
"Tsunade-sama, are you sure there's no foul play going on?" he asked, barely containing his frustration.
Tsunade, who had just begun celebrating, frowned. "If you're going to accuse me, show me proof."
She pointed to the ninja observers nearby. "Hey, sentient ninjas, you've been watching. Did I use any chakra?"
One of the ninjas behind Tsunade stepped forward. "No chakra fluctuations detected, and we know Tsunade-sama wouldn't do something like that. She's been a trusted VIP of this casino for years."
The dealer gritted his teeth. He knew this was true. If Tsunade wanted to win by cheating, she wouldn't come here to gamble at all.
"My apologies, Tsunade-sama," a voice called out. The owner of the casino had stepped forward, looking sincerely apologetic. "If you wish to continue, we'll assign you a new dealer."
"No, I want him to stay," Tsunade replied with a fierce look. "And put all 550 million on small. Watch closely this time."
The dealer visibly paled, beads of sweat forming on his brow. This could end very badly for him either way. Taking a deep breath, he resigned himself to his fate.
*Rattle, rattle…*
The dealer shook the dice cup again, his expression growing more strained as he realized he couldn't control the result.
*Thud!*
"Open!" The dealer dropped the cup and lifted it.
"Two, three, three…"
The dealer collapsed onto the floor, realizing he'd lost. He'd been trying to ensure a win for the house, but somehow Tsunade had won yet again.
"That's enough for today," Tsunade said, standing up. She gave the casino owner a look. "Next time, I don't want to be accused unfairly."
"Of course, Tsunade-sama," the casino owner replied. "Prepare Tsunade-sama's winnings."
With her new fortune in hand, Tsunade left the casino with Reiki, Shisui, and Nozuki trailing behind, satisfied with her earnings.
As for the dealer… well, it was clear his career at that casino was over.
