The office is a sleek, sophisticated space that reflects Madden's refined and calculated personality. The walls are painted a warm,dark grey colour, and the air is thick with the scent of rich leather and polished wood; conveying a sense of refinement and exclusivity.
The desk, a stunning, handcrafted masterpiece made from a single piece of polished mahogany, sits at the room's center, dominating the space with its sheer presence. Behind it, a high - backed, black leather chair seems to cradle Madden Banks, providing a comfortable perch from which to survey his empire. Beside the chair, a suit hanger stands discreetly, its slim, chrome - plated frame almost invisible against the office's neutral background. Madden's eyes were constantly drawn to the screens as if perpetually monitoring the global market, searching for the next opportunity to expand his enterprise, suddenly someone knocked on his door, distracting him from what he was doing.
His eyes became more cold because he hates been distracted the most but he still allowed the person in nevertheless
"Come in."
Will;his substitute personal assistant; entered with a proud smile plastered on his face
"It better be important." Madden stated coldly, throwing warning daggers to him.
Will coiled up in fear and pouted slightly "Of course it is."
Madden gave him a warning glance and he stopped his childish pout immediately,he scoffed at the back of his head before going to his boss' desk.
"There has been an improvement on your Father's case and I found out that his death isn't ordinary." He said bashfully
Madden stared at the idiot at his presence in obvious anger,does this fool not know what to say at the right time?
"If I didn't know that,I wouldn't have told you to investigate it." Madden scrowled at him and Will twitched
At least you'll let me finish my words naw,Will murmured at the back of his mind but he just smiled uneasily, uttering "Boss,I wasn't done."
Madden ignored him and fixed his eyes on the monitor. Will whined inwardly in displeasure but maintain a calm demeanor,what can he do anyways.
"We were finally able to detect that your father was in constant contact with a strange woman for two days before he died and also your father's lawyer kept a backup file for the properties transfer..."
Madden interrupted him immediately "Why haven't you looked for the files,why are you giving me all these irrelevant information?"
Will looked at him sheepishly while scratching his head "I needed your approval sir."
Madden messaged his temples in annoyance "You know why I haven't fired you yet?"
"Because you love me?" Will asked hopefully, shinning all his whole teeth like a dumbass
"Because you're dumb." Madden said coldly and Will's face changed immediately. "I seriously don't know what Alvin was thinking when he used you as a substitute assistant for me, you're such a pain in the ass and a waste of time." Madden hissed coldly
"Thank you boss, I'll correct my ways." Will said in a babish manner and Madden could feel a wave of headache entering his head.
"Leave."
Will smiled sheepishly and saluted him in a funny manner "Alright boss."
He made way to the door and was about to open the door when he abruptly turned back "Should we still look for the files?"
"No, don't."
" Okay sir,we won't." Will smiled at him and was about to leave when her suddenly heard "Are you stupid?"
Will stared at Madden in confusion, just what has he done again "But boss why are you so aggrieved,I didn't know anything wrong." He said innocently and even started blinking his eyes in a cute way.
Madden looked at Will with so much anger,he felt like crushing him with his bare hands "Didn't I tell you to look for the files?"
Will stared at his boss in a funny way "But you also told me not to look for it, isn't that what you told me just now?"
"Leave."
"But boss..." Madden interrupted him harshly
"Don't make me repeat myself."
Will felt unhappy with the way his boss spoke to him but what can he do?, it is his boss here. He walked towards the door grudgingly, murmuring some incoherent words.
Madden stared at his back coldly, smirking at Will's actions. He has the guts to complain in his presence,such audacity. "Go and handle the project in Australia and don't come back until you're done with it."
Will's eyes widened in shock,he turned hasty and almost went on his knees "Boss please, I'm sorry ,the project in Australia is massive, I'll probably use five years to complete it." Will almost cried in grievance,what has he done again?
"Are you complaining?" Madden asked icely,his face devoid of warmth,he looked angered. Will held his neck sadly, wondering what he had done to anger his boss.
"Yes...I...I... mean...No,no,no I'm not complaining,I just wanted to know what..." Will trailed in his words when he saw his boss' threatening expression.
"No,I mean I want you to temper justice with mercy, please boss." Will quickly corrected himself and went on his knees "I have a sick mother here sir and I can't afford to lose her,I need to take care of her personally." He quickly added, almost in the verge of tears.
"Then you can take her with you."
Will looked at Madden in disbelief "She's sick boss and doesn't have the strength to travel." He almost scoffed but he restrained himself and spoke softly.
Madden smirked in satisfaction,he saw through Will and knew what he wanted to do;scoff at him?, audacity increasing; His eyes became more cold at that thought,he must be so kind for his employee to behave like this to him.
"If you can't take her with you then be visiting her during your less busy times or better still you'll employ a caretaker for her." He said flatly,he remained nonchalant at his words,if it affected someone,he doesn't care,he doesn't give a flying fuck.
"Boss..." Will was about to talk but Madden gave him a glance enough to make him swallow his words.
"Leave."
"Boss..."
"You like me repeating myself, don't you?"
Will sniffed in tears walking to the door slowly,he kept looking back to see if he can have a chance to persuade his boss but Madden kept his gaze fixed on his computer and his hands were moving very fast like flash over the keyboard,his attention has been placed on the system and his simple actions is telling Will only one word;SCRAM.
Will heaved a huge sigh of depression before leaving the office sadly.
After Will left, Madden stopped his actions and rested his back on the swerving chair while massaging his temples with his eyes closed.
"Such a pain in the ass."
